    Afternoon all

I popped into Asda for the first time in weeks - I've been avoiding the place assuming that my local would also have the new till system installed and I really didn't want the hassle

But I went in search of Soreen bars but my store does not stock them  I even saw the up and go cartons but as I could not get the Soreen bars I didn't bother - so Asda have lost my £3.40 times three as I would have got a set for each TCB

I did though get the oykos salted caramel yog which has a good long date on it. I went to a non busy till and as I only had the one item I said I had a coupon. Inevitably when she scanned the MOC it came up with some gibberish about not being valid and she was about to call CS but decided to use common sense instead and just put it through as a non scan MOC. Free yogurt :D
She showed me a clip board of instructions all the tills have re the new till system but said mostly its the APGS it affects - I would imagine the number of MOCs they see would be minimal anyway.

I used my last 6 cidres MOCs in sainsbobs - no brothers toffee apple cider so actually this has saved me a lot of time this afternoon - no Soreen and upandgo receipts from Asda to scan for Cos and no cider ones either :)

Are you talking about bullying the staff at stores? If so, I think it 's the other way round. How many stories on here of being "trouted" have been told on this alone, marched to CS, claimed the vouchers are fake, ooh you got this shop in a different store, you can't use more than 1 voucher per shop. The amount of excuses is unbelievable. These people don't need bullying, they need slapping with a wet kipper and proper training.

Lack of training by the stores they work for and jealousy that savvy shoppers are able to get their shopping for next to nothing.

If it's bullying on here, report it.

I wasn't talking about bullying on here today.

I used to take a dim view of staff who come up with a lot of feeble excuses to get out of taking vouchers and I have had a few instances of having to stand my ground over legitimate coupons. And there are certainly a few hard core staff who really do go to extremes. However, as time has gone on I have developed a little more sympathy for many of the hardworking staff who are just trying to do their jobs to the best of their ability often after insufficient training. If they get something wrong they can expect to be hauled up in front of maagement staff and given a hard time, if they get something right its just taken for granted.

I am not aiming my present comments at anyone in particular or necessarily on here but when staff are confronted with masses of vouchers, some of which are printed and could be photocopies and some which clearly give a VERY large apg return on a very small 'shop' then surely its understandable if staff get edgy and aren't prepared to just scan everything through without checking ? It doesn't help when systems are changed without proper re-training - thats not our fault but it isn't the fault of the checkout staff either. Also, many stores used to have a maximum number items that you were able to buy in one go but now it seems that customers can strip shelves and noody is allowed to stop them. I've worked as Customer Service Manager for a large organisation and know only too well how unpleasant members of the public can be when confronted with frontine staff such as receptionists or checkout staff when they can't immediately get exactly what they want (even if they aren't entitled to it).
