I don't know about the Army but I also heard that game wardens/national trust people (or similar) use it in Scotland. I've been using it for the past couple of years in Sri Lanka and it has certainly helped with the bites. Not 100% but I get bitten to b
and this has cut down the number of bites pretty effectively. Its also lovely n your skin - spray on after showereing and smooth in and it leaves your skin soft with no sticky residue.

Worth a try - stock up when its on half price offer.

I have to say my information was from radio 4.....

I offered to send DS1 some, he said he will stick with the tonic and alcohol!!

    Morning all

I am pondering about anti histomenes

On Friday we had a little mossi flying around and it must have bitten me, got 2 massive itchy swollen lumps on my hand, thumb side and at the bottom of the index finger.

seeing as we are going to a warm climate and into the hills in December I am wondering if I should get some of the supermarket bog standard anti hists

3 days now these little bites have given me huge jipp - OH gave me some cream to put on but its not helped - a low pain threshold and I do get bitten by anything flying

Mhoc, please get yourself a mozzieclicker device. You can get them on Amazon, or Sains has them on the round display that has holiday stuff like padlocks, travel wallets etc on it. It is a brilliant bit of kit, and it works. I posted about it before. I take a couple to Antigua cos the mozzies love me. Any bite gets clicked, the itching stops quickly, and the quicker you use it after a bite the better as the bite doesn't swell. I used to take antihistamines every day in Antigua, but don't bother now. Hth

Hi maz, thank you for your kind thought :). I've been a sufferer of multi joint osteoarthritis for over 20 years and can say that this year has been one of my worst health wise :(. I suffer in the cold wet weather with my joints, hands and fingers are the worse anytime if I do too much so am restricted such a lot. DH does most of the cooking bless him, but he is a great chef :)

My cough seems to be on the retreat and there again it was DH that came to my rescue. I'll let you all know in a couple of days if He has found the solution as it could help others with asthma.

    Good Morning.

    Keep your spirits up.

My 93yr old auntie has just had a successful cataract operation so hopefully that will be one of your ailments solved when that gets sorted.
