Thanks. That makes sense. Didn't realise you needed 10 branded items.
You don't, you only need 1 branded item.

1. Simply go into any Tesco Extra, Superstore or Metro store (excluding Tesco Express stores and Tesco Petrol Filling Stations) and purchase at least 10 Different Products, one of which must be a Comparable Branded Grocery Product (see Definitions below). If your comparable Branded Basket would have been cheaper at Asda, Morrisons[1] or Sainsbury’s, we’ll deduct the difference (or the maximum Tesco Brand Guarantee limit of £20) off the price of your shop before you pay and show you what we deducted on your receipt. If your comparable Branded Basket was cheaper at Tesco, your Tesco Brand Guarantee receipt will tell you by how much (again against the cheapest competitor). It will also tell you if it was the same.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. MrsJoJo, are you in Northern Ireland? No comparison with M by T over there as there are no M's in NI.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I assume.
fruit veg doesn't count.
tesco's own brand doesn't count.
Therefore you were under 10 branded items.
You do not have to buy 10 branded items. Only one branded item needs to be included (you can include more - but be careful they are not comparable to Morrisons and sold by M at a higher price than T). So, here, we only need the Coke Zero 24x330ml pack as our one comparable brand.
The reason there is a minimum (you can exceed that if you want, but be careful as above) of one comparable branded item, is that, if there were zero comparable branded items in your shopping, there would be nothing to compare at all and thus you would not get a comparison. That does not apply as we are all, hopefully, buying Coke Zero 24.
The rest of the different items required - total of 10 including the Coke Zero 24, which obviously itself counts as one - can be anything at all, except that I understand bag re-use and CC points/top-up etc. does not count.
In other words, just actual physical products that T sell. Be careful with branded items - pick the cheapest own brands you can find, as you don't want to be increasing the cost of your shop - you'll have to pay for any own brands at their prices - so, unless you want them - and need 9 different items plus the Coke Zero 24 pack (however many of those you are getting, maximum 4 - in simple terms, the maximum TBG difference (oh yes, there is a cap!) would be exceeded if you bought more - there's a more complicated version but I need not go into it as it is not going to be relevant).
It could not be any simpler than it is.
You don't need to worry about 10p sweets being branded - they are all fine as they either compare to 10p at M and thus lose nothing or return N/A vs M (again fine). Just don't do anything daft like buying the 12 for £1:rotfl:.0 -
MrsJoJo, are you in Northern Ireland? No comparison with M by T over there as there are no M's in NI.
Yes, sorry, this is not available to Northern Ireland.
So, we're very sorry folks, you have to sit this one out (like so much stuff on here:() as the 'best' I believe you can get from T in N Ireland is T's 'offer' price of £5. (Or you could get on a plane or ferry, come to Great Britain and buy in an included T here.)
I doubt it's Northern Ireland issue specifically though, as MrsJoJo says she got no reference to TBG on her receipt at all, which rather suggests that the shop she did did not qualify for the TBG. In other words, she bought fewer than 10 different items. Otherwise, there would still be a comp. vs A and S available from the TBG checker website.0 -
Thank you for all the helpful replies folks. I'm in England. Meeting a glitchy friend later so will ask them to study my receipt. Good luck and hope it continues to work for everyone else.0

Coke glitch didn't work for me :-( No mention of BG on the receipt even. Not sure if it's stopped or I did something wrong! Shop was 30 mins ago.
mine worked at 1015 you have to go right to payment to see bg reduction
tesco staff followed me out to ask if i got coke because of bg fault :P
of course i did and i was going in for more but she said security may not let you
but i went through normal till this time and the staff was suprised :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
a few more things have been added to the Topcashback snap and save list today but I am very worried that some are very similar to ones on the COS list - are they one and the same now?
It seems this week they have joined CoS network for some items - see it as a bonus as in some cases it now means 3 chances to get the same items (on 3 receipts - CS, TCB, CoS) - there have been few crossover offers from memory anyway.

If this theory is correct, I would love to know if caffeine free diet coke also works.
But do M have Caffeine Free Diet coke in 24 pack at all?
Who's to say that it's 24 pack of that? For all we know, any other item we don't know about could have a glitch. I must admit - I know you think I should know - but I do not know offhand if Caffeine Free Diet Coke 24, (a) even exists or (b) is even stocked by M or not - or whether it is more restricted in its availability in M stores. If it is stocked, then, like anything, it's possible it may have a glitched price. It may be unlikely if that item is stocked in more M stores, is in all the ones they visited, and thus gets confirmation from other stores as to what its price is. It would need all stores having the same glitched price for that to be picked up, or for them somehow to have collected the same glitched price in two of the stores. (If they pick up different prices in all three, it's N/A as there's no common price. If they pick up the right price in two stores, that's the price picked up and it's the right price and not a glitched one.) If it is not stocked at all at M (or not stocked in any of the three stores visited on behalf of T), then is it likely that an item that should be N/A would instead contain, in error, a price and a glitched real low price at that? They can mix items up I suppose - and link one item in T to something else in M.
You're expecting them to have picked up 24p for Caffeine Free Diet when each price for each different item is collected individually and it's unlikely that it would have picked up the same glitch? It's probably a keying error, at the price collection in one store that stocks the Zero Coke and they didn't find the product elsewhere. Or else it's the collation of the result - keying in the pack number instead of whatever information was collected.
Who knows - it may glitch the same way (the Caffeine Free Diet). I think it's a whole lot less likely though than the Dusted Cod Fillets at A correctly picking up the £2 M price that I thought it was very likely that they would!0 -

uploading receipts is going to be even more complicated now if one receipt could go in anyone of three places - 2 TCB, 3 Q and three COS accounts and many people have far more complicated set ups!“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
