Just thought I'd add to the Aldi good/great list for mhoc. We've been forced to shop at Aldi recently as I can't make it around A's or T's as they are too big & I get completely breathless & sweat profusely. I have to stop half way around Aldi, it's that bad & ask hubby to get off his scooter & let me sit. Been tested for COPD - all OK & waiting for ECG/XRays & Bloods - so Yes, I have been to docs. Anxiety is all they have come up with at the moment?? BUT I'm not anxious, except about hubby's so far wait for knee replacement for 3.5yrs, likely to be 4.5yrs+ plus his back (4 vertebrae damaged out of alignment) that the recent steroid injections made worse.
Anyways here is what I've found in Aldi that we think is very good.
Ginger Nuts 25p - fiery 'proper' ginger biscuits, better than any others on market.
Semi skimmed milk UHT 1lt 49p. Nice & creamy
Ordinary 4 pt semi skimmed 89p
Orange Juice with bits 59p - nice!
Their chips - steak ones 1.5Kg for 89p
Chunky chips 1.5kg £1.75
Ham trimmings 400gm - Tasty & half the time full slices £1.65
Seasoned sausages pk 6 thick 80% meat - nice & don't shrink. £1.29
Chilled potato selection (with cheese) Very, very moreish 89p
Vegetable Spring Rolls 4pk 85p
Steak family pie £1.79 - very tender chunks of meat, well filled.
Creamy coleslaw - Nice, not too peppery as some are. 59p
Fig Rolls 34p - good amount of figs inside.
Fruit lattice pies 99p for 4 - Omg!These beat Mr Kipling anyday. Well filled with plum & cherry & so moreish BUT filling too.
S.S. Meusli £1.59 - the exotic fruits is by far the superior. Yummy!
Quiche £1.99 We like both varieties, the caramelised onion I Love!
Liquorice allsorts 49p - tastes same as best named brands.
Delight Bites 79p - just like Sun Bites. The Chili just a bit hotter.
Vegetable Crisps £1.29 - OMG these are excellent, we first saw in US & got addicted there. Parsnip, beetroot etc. - Try them!
Stackers 89p - like Pringles but thinner crispier - we liked.
Turkey Salami - can't remember price - VERY yummy indeed.
Farmhouse seeded batch bread 99p - very nice, was surprised it was white bread on packet, loads of seeds throughout.
I must admit we've both been pleasantly surprised. Our shopping bill has gone up due to not getting whoopsies as not going to A's T's or S's. Plus we're buying things we probably shouldn't in Aldi's to try (our last shop there was £53 but £15 on milk alone) However I'm trying to get our stocks down in the freezers, which really needs to be done as 1 I think is a bit on the blink (thankfully smallest one).
HTH some of you.0 -

Just been speaking to my friend in France. She says that the news people here are not giving as much info as the French news. For anyone who wants more info google France24. Their news coverage is excellent, with news for tourists about travel etc. You can stream it online.
