Thanks
Yeah that would run your lan, but what about your Telephone?
If your using Adsl the easiest thing would be to run a telephone
extension from the master socket to your room and have the adsl
modem in your room, saves you running two cables then0 -

Cheers for the info.
What I have decided to do is to reconnect the telephone socket in my room which I can use for the calls and use the kit above to run the LAN. I was thinking of running a cable from the master socket but my room is too far away from it.0 -
Hi.
Sorry to jump in here but I am really interested in this. I am going to apply but I have a couple questions I was hoping someone could answer (I don't have time to go through the whole thread, sorry!).
1. I read earlier in the thread that other people can't use wireless internet during the shifts? Is this true?
2. Does anyone know how good they are with holidays? Like I have one booked in November so if I started before then are they likely to give me the time off (as long as it is not during my training obviously).
This would be the perfect job for me depending on the answers to my questions. I am leaving my current job at the end of the week to start a distance learning course so could fit any shifts around that. And I have call centre experience
Hope you all enjoy your training this evening.
This is all hypothetical if they are not hiring anymore but I assume the will be at some point in the future if not right now and you can still apply so I hope they are still hiring!0 -
They don't like you to take time off during the first 12 week training block.0
-
Yes they are hiring. PM for more details if you want.
I have kids so I'm fitting it around kids with the split shifts,. 2 hours on, 2 off then 2 on again. All recruitjment is done online and on phone and fairly somple although omputer probs happen but you can work through just have to be a bit patient. They have been really good though in my experience, their are quite a few forms to fill in but nothing too painful really. You have to get ID countersigned by a solicitor but if you have used one for a house sale just ring them as mine did it for free and hadn't seen them since last\year. If not just ring around they tend to charge between 10 and 50 £.
Shifts are evenings 5-7 9-11 split or 6-10 or 5-9 or 7-11 but a lot have gone. Most shifts now involve working fris, sat and sun but this is ok for me as kids go to dads then so its nice and quiet and get a couple of hours between shift to chill and then can settle in for a drink after 11 lol! Just have an extra lie in at weekend I reckon.
Best of luck0 -
Thanks for the info. That training is really long! I figured if I started soon it would be over before November, oh well, I suppose work has to come first (sometimes)!
And bobblebot I'll PM you if I decide to go ahead with it. Thanks for all the details you gave me, it answered a few unasked questions.
I would really love an answer to my question about the wireless broadband. There are 4 computers in my house connected to it (normally only 2-3 at a time) and if others couldn't use the internet while I was working there might be a murder, lol.0 -
Not sure...they said you can't, kids were using it last night but it was training it might be different when we are actually using teh real work systems Serenity-keep you posted on that unless someone else knows.0

I don't see a problem with the wireless as long
as you are connected hard wired and you have
enough bandwidth on your broadband0 -
Hehe its all fun again! Where are we I, what are we, oh my god who am I? lol!0

How's it going everyone? Much better tonight, not really a numpto in, apart from me! LOLSig ah Sig Ahhh0
