A real work at home job

what happens if someone calls your home while you are working and have the headset plugged in
will the teletech take priority and other calls wont come through
how does that side of things work?
thanks
the system on TT's side makes an incoming call to your house phone. so its like being on the phone for the 4 hours or whatever of your shift. if you have call waiting or anything like that, youll need that removed. i think you need to get 1571 removed too0 -
Yep as soon as you log into the call system your phone rings, you then hit the answer button on your headset base. This then opens your line to inbound calls through the software system and anyone calling your telephone normally will hear the engaged tone.0

ok cheers for that guys!
i now have the workbooth cd, and have followed the instructions and have booted the cd, just wondering if it is slow loading for you guys?
mine remains on two penguins and a black screen for what seems a long time, maybe a few mins and then will move to the coloured text and load and configure my devices
this probably takes over 5 mins or so to complete and load into the workbooth
does this have to be done everytime and is that a normal time for it to take
just curious
cheers0 -
hmm. i applied for the tech job and got offered the sales one.. even though she said the tech one was more suited to me, they have not got any positions available..maybe they just need more sales and have pushed me down that line?
anyone else managed to get the tech one lately?0 -

when it goes to the penguins its basically registering all your hardware into the linux OS. like windows does, the first time you install it. Because you install it everytime you boot the disc, yes, it does take a while. depends on your hardware setup and how fast your machine is as well tho.0 -
Yep the boot can take differing lengths of time depending on processor speed, RAM and ammount of hardware the boot disk has to scan, once it gets to the penguins you can leave it be a couple of mins normally and not worry till it hits the project screen. Best bet is to start logging in at least 15 mins before start of shift in case of issues, that way you have time to sort things or contact someone if the smelly stuff hits the fan plus there will be a lot of people hitting the server at the same time if you wait till last minute and that can cause issues too.0

Maybe this is why they haven't got back to me despite saying I should hear something around Thursday last week. Wondering if I should apply for the sales job now as well? Hmm, do I actually want to do it tho..0 -
Hi everybody, our group goes into nesting on Wednesday, I'll be so glad to get the training over!! lol
Just a few questions for those who have been there a while - we must be available to work mon-sun, 5 days a week. How far ahead do you get your schedule? Do you work both Sat and Sun together everytime or do they sometimes give you Sat one week, sun the next, then sat and sun on the same week? Oooh and, when working sat/sun, do you get 2 consecutive days off during the week or two sporatic days off, and do the weekdays off change from week to week or are they fixed?
Hope someone can help lol
Many thanks

I don't work there but I have read the entire thread
The times everyone's been getting are the same each week, so if you have sat&sun you'll be doing that every week. Days off are next to each other as well so if you've got thu-mon then you'll always get tues and weds as your weekend.
Good luck, when did you first apply?0 -
days are not always off together, but they are the same every week, it would be nice if we could have every other weekend off0
