I can't see any reason why not. I use a desk top atm but so long as your laptop is connected via the ethernet cable rather than wireless it's surely the same thing. I keep meaning to test my lappie with Workbooth so if anything happens to the desktop I have a backup machine.
I'm pretty sure some of my training group were on laptops.

    Hi all,
I did the tech assessment this afternoon and got the message that my computer had passed. However i did not get a confirmation email sent to confirm this. Just went back onto the technical assessment and thought i would run it another few times (as advised by my recruiter) to make sure the info was sent. However now the assessment wont go through to the end - i get to the 'enter hirepoint no' screen and then when i press enter it skips straight back to the very first ' welcome' screen. This assessment has driven me nuts from the beginning and im supposed to start training on the 14th! I even went out and bought a new computer and it was on this computer that i got the 'you passed the technical assessment' screen. I know my computer is up to spec as i took the list down to the puter shop and got it all checked!! please, please, please help before i give up the will to live. Ta!

Well, after the follow up call from my recruiter, I sent her an e-mail asking her to clarify the next steps in the recruitment process. I got a reply at the start of the day in the States, & she wrote,
"The next step in the application process is when a training class is established, if it fits your availability and skill set I will contact you and actually extend an offer. There will be a background check, but this will not be conducted until we actually extend an offer and hire you into the system. You will have to fill out new hire paperwork at that time also, and send it back to us with in three business days. You will get confirmation of a job offer when we have a position to place you in and we find that it will be a good fit. At this time I do not know the dates or times of the next available training dates, but when I do I will let you know as soon as I get the information. "

    So, i wait in anticipation.................

For the benefits of others Specsappeal, what did you do differently
to get the assessment to complete OK, there have been a few people
already having issues with the assessment and it would be great if we
can get to the bottom of the issue.

You definitely CAN use a laptop, and as previously said, as long as you are connected via the ethernet cable. I use a laptop and have no problems.
