Thank you everyone. Yes I'm definately going to buy one any way as my man often works from home on conference calls to China! So this really would be handy for him to have hands free also. We currently have cordless X 2 but the batteries don't last more than 20 mins! So for me anything under a tenner is worth it in this case. Do you absolutely have to, have to, use their base set?

Not sure why you wouldn't want to use their basestation
    and headset ?

You do have to use it yes, as its a professional piece of equipment
that ensures your voice is clear and that you can hear the customer
well too, it also allows you to adjust call volume etc and microphone
    level

basically the experience for the customer should be exactly the same
whether they get a @home agent or a call-centre agent, so using a similar
type of phone helps achieve that consistency

And not having a dog barking in background helps too!

    Yep you're a softie Oliver ;)
But a very helpful one :D

Not having a cat bring in a still alive bird and drop it on your feet whilst you're on a call helps too !

I am also waiting on a Training date, i had interview on Thursday, then a call on Friday advising that i had been successful and that hopefully they would have a date in the next 2/3 weeks.

Should be a new training group coming around soon then, a group has just been released into the wilds so they are no doubt preparing for the next. Be patient and keep an eye on your email for a message from a trainer. It will come and then the fun will begin ;)
