Potterton Suprima 60HE Problems

I have issues with my boiler.......doesn't want to fire up when the central heating or hot water demand comes in. Problems is somewhat intermittent but following advice from a plumber a new Air Pressure Switch and PCB have been fitted to no avail. The indicator lights do not show a fault, however a day after the PCB was changed an Ignition fault arose and a spark generator was replaced. Boiler then worked OK for a few hours and now I'm back to were I started. The only light flashing is the green burner light (which according to the manual is a normal configuration) however on demand nothing happens.
HELP.............it's getting cold.
Only other thing is that I'm having an extension and still have 3 radiators not connected, could it be just air trapped around the system, the rads have been missing for the last 12 months, but??

That's why you don't ask a plumber to fix a boilerI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Thanks for your pointless reply.
Anything more constructive would be gratefully received.0 -
Sounds like your chosen engineer is grasping at straws. Hope they aren't charging you for this 'pin the tail on the donkey' strategy to fault finding?
You need to find a decent engineer who knows what they're doing0 -
Southcoastrgi's point is that a plumber is not qualified to work on gas appliances, so not at all pointless. You need a GSR RGI who is familiar with your make and model, and knows how to do proper fault finding, rather than just swapping random parts in the vain hope that it might eventually fix the problem. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

My bad for referring to him as a plumber, he is all Corgi registered up and fortunately charging mates rates, nothing fortunately.....after the original problem he consulted Baxi who diagnosed the PCB and the spark generator was duff after it showed an Ignition fault once the PCB was replacement, however after this was replaced and the boiler worked as advertised, albeit briefly I'm back to square one again. Oddity is that it isn't showing any faults or lockout, is this a regular occurrence, i.e would you expect some form of fault indication?0

You refer to the Green Burner light flashing. This is indicating a fault and it depends upon when it is flashing, i.e. at what point in the ignition sequence. Look at the page from the installation manual (link below) and you (or your Mates Rates assistant) will be able to pick out your particular set of circumstances.

What are the three lights on the front doing, which are on/off/flashing ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

CORGI ceased to control RGI registration over 5 years ago, so if your mate says he's CORGI, he is not legit. The controlling body is GSR, as I stated. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Lockout red is OFF, Burner On green is OFF, Mains On green is flashing. According to the instructions on the front of the boiler this is a "Normal Sequence" (System controls On, Temperature control knob off, burner off). The boiler kicked in this morning fine but now the heating demand has come in again it's doing nothing.
As I was typing it came to life, or tried at least. Back to Ignition Fault ( red lockout ON, Burner on green OFF, Mains on green ON)0 -
And just to clarify, the lad is legit, it's just my !!!! poor interpretation on here that seems to be causing confusion.
Apologises0
