I hope it's ok to post in here - I booked via hoteldirect.co.uk, not lastminute.com, but from what I gather the descriptions are often the same.

For my boyfriend's 30th we went for the following hotel:

5 star below The Strand, Hidden Gem hotel

Board basis:
Room Only. Full Cooked Breakfast can be added during booking.

Room and hotel facilities:
This luxurious Hidden Gem offers nearly 300 refurbished bedrooms, all of which are ensuite and offer bathrobes, direct-dial telephone, in room safe, satellite TV, mini bar, high speed internet access and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel also benefits from a gym and business centre and outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy alfresco dining. In addition to the terrace there is a superb AA Rosette awarded restaurant offering contemporary dining in a fantastic setting, along with a Piano Bar.

Hotel and location:
Situated on the banks of the River Thames, this luxurious 5* Hidden Gem, who`s architectural heritage has earned it Grade I listed status, occupies a spectacular location, just minutes from London`s West End. This places Theatreland, Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace all within a 10 minute walk of the hotel and the London Eye a short stroll across the river. Historic Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament are also just a 5 minute stroll away. The hotel now also offers complimentary Wi-Fi.

Car Parking:
Q Park Trafalgar Square at Spring Gardens is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and costs approximately £36 for 24 hours. Valet parking available at £50 for 24 hours.

Although I wasn't given the option to add breakfast when booking But I'll contact the hotel and see what they can do

On Last minute Secret Savers, Royal Horseguards is 'Magnificent discounts at luxurious riverside hotel'.

In respect of breakfast, Royal Horseguards will offer you a 'breakfast coupon' when you check in, which will be less than the price on the menu (it's usually about £15 p/h via the vouchers, and £20+ if you just buy it 'straight', I seem to remember). It's a good breakfast, with plenty of choice from a buffet with tea/coffeee toast served at table. If you intend to have it as a substantial meal in pleasant-enough surroundings that will serve as a 'brunch' probably fair-enough value, but it's also worth knowing that you're opposite South Bank and also two minutes from The Strand - and there's lots of choice in the area for much less money - it just depends if you're viewing breakfast in the hotel as part of the overall experience, or if you don't mind going out and hunting breakfast down!

As I had trawled though this board looking for help in the past for hotels, now I've actually booked one, I thought I would post it all for you guys to know ! Booked through Lastminute.com today for £240 for two people for two nights ! (That's with a special offer that was emailed to me, with an extra 10% off) Bargain!

It turned out to be the Radisson Edwardian Blu - Bloomsbury... Haven't been yet obviously, but looks pretty good to me !! It's described as this...
