    Morning all,

    :coffee:

It's the 'weekend' here. And I have a very long list of stuff to do. Don't really know where to start TBH. Looked out of the window over to the mountains, there's snow on top, no wonder I don't want to remove my dressing gown.

I'm feeling really content this morning. I think my recent mental elf blip is over.

    Debt-Free Nillionaire Month 6:

    * Neeed to clean old fridge before putting it up for sale.

    * It's PayDay. Rent has been paid.

    * Ordered two new toilet seat buffers for £1.85 instead of a whole new seat.

    * Signed up for some Nectar card offers. Extra points when we buy fuel at our usual petrol station. Win win.

    *
It is bucketing down. We're about to get the tail end of a hurricane. Hoping to still be able to go out for lunch in town.

    * Register fridge for 12 month guarantee. Remembered to get serial number off back of it before siting it.

    * Paid more into our Australia fund.

    * Cleared out emails.

    * Sell DVD on eBay.

    * Called HMRC. I am due a £200 Income Tax rebate as I've been stuck on the wrong tax code for two months. This is because the Jobcentre didn't tell them how much JSA we'd had in the six weeks we'd claimed it. If they'd wrote and told me that was holdng up the payment I'd have followed it up! I told them just now and they say I'll get the money back next week. The lady on the phone said I'd have been waiting until April 2016 had I not called back today. They told me initially it was all in hand and they'd sort it. Liars! :(

    * Look at Lakeland Catalogue but do not buy anything.

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, I'm a newbie so hello :)

    - make washing up liquid rather than buying a bottle as it's a NSD (quite excited about this)
    - going through what's left in the fridge and making some sort of magical dish out of the remains of veg so I don't waste
    - Check bank account
    - Get one survey done
    - Go through cupboards and freezer and create meal plan, got one week left til pay day and i'd love to just need to buy a few fresh bits
    - I'm working from home today and am going to layer up and keep the heating off
    - Count out penny jar, dd is going to help me with this one tonight :)

    Have a great day everyone

    Morning all!

It's a very wild & windy day here. It's also dustbin day, and the recycling bins have been rolling down the hill and tipping over - luckily ours didn't go far, and didn't spill much out either, but one of the neighbour's bins spilled all over the road. She was rushing out to work and to take the children to school so I did my good deed of the day and tidied it up for her. Only downside was that at that moment the heavens opened & I got very wet. Ah well, I soon warmed up in a nice hot bath.

Since then, I've done a few onepoll surveys (a nice lot on there today), then caught up on RM surveys too. I've got two to post today so need to go to the PO later.

I've spent the last 2 evenings knitting my OH a woolly hat as he seems to have lost his favourite. Last night I'd just started decreasing for the shaping when I realised that it wasn't working out right as I'd made a few adjustments to the pattern. I've spent the last few minutes undoing all my hard work by about 4 inches - just got to pick up the stitches now and re-do what I've undone - this time I will follow the pattern to the letter!

A good friend gave me some cooking apples yesterday and some home-grown kale.

The postie brought me 5 sachets of Head & Shoulders shampoo yesterday, which neither I or OH will use. If any of you would like them, please drop me a PM & I will post them to you. It won't cost me anything as I have free stamps from RM surveys.

Hope everyone has a good day - at least most of you that work have the weekend to look forward to.

    Kx

Laptop has just eaten my update post, the mean pig.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Dudes

Carrie - that conversation was hilarious :)

My own mini update. I now only have 2 more payments to HMRC before I am clear of the money I owed them. Jan 15th for the win!
It's going to make a massive difference monthly of £306.

It's a good thing to focus on for the new year.

It's my son's 7th birthday today so he has some money from relatives to decide on how to use. Or save. Well encourage a 50/50 split but ultimately he's old enough to decide what to do. And it involves Lego :)

Happy Birthday to your son. If he's anything like his mum, he'll know how to handle his money! And you must be counting down the days till Jan 15th - well done!
