flight turned back, still entitled to compensation??

On a recent flight from Belfast City Airport to heathrow with BA we were about 15 mins into the flight when something went wrong on the aircraft. we had to turn back and land at Belfast Int (Aldergrove) Airport We were all bussed into Belfast City Centre and were booked into a hotel overnight. We were eventually flown back the next morning 13 hours later than the original scheduled flight.
does this count as a delay? can i claim for lost work and taxi's?

What was the reason they gave you for turning back. You can check if you are due any compensation by going to Bott & Co website and entering your flight details. If they say you are are due compensation then they are usually right. You can then read Vauban's guide and decide to take this on yourself or handed it to a no win no fee solicitor. You can enter your flight details on here and someone will check for you. You won't be able to claim for lost work (check your travel insurance) but you might be able to claim your Taxi fare

the reason they gave was a fault with the engine. the flight number BA 1421, 27th october at 19.35.

Read Vauban's guide send a NBA and give them 14 days to reply if they refuse compensation you have 2 options use a no win no fee solicitor or go for it yourself it is all explained in the guide and there are plenty of people on this site who will give you all the help you need. Goodluck
