I have two with both Smile and Barclays. They have different functions for me. Part of piggy banking.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

other than Tesco's
Not even Tesco force you to have just one sole and one joint account.
You can have two sole accounts with them.0 -
I am not aware any other high interest current allow more than 1 sole name
The OP doesn't seem to be asking specifically about high interest current accounts, so there are numerous options for opening multiple current accounts in a sole name, several of which have been listed above. In fact, it doesn't appear anyone has been able to name a bank that will not allow you to open multiple accounts in a sole name so far...0 -

I can't think of a bank that won't allow customers to have more than one account.
I have two (or more) Current Accounts with Natwest, N&P, Halifax and Santander (off the top of my head).
Santander offer their Everyday account which doesn't having funding or Direct Debit requirements and doesn't charge a fee.
Having a Current account with different banking groups is a good idea. They all have outages from time to time, so it's useful to have a backup.
Thank you. I shall look into both Natwest and Santander. I really would like both accounts to be with the same bank however, I understand what you're saying. I have a spare Halifax account that I shall transfer emergency money into. Thank you!0 -

As advised you'd probably want to split between 2 banks.
I shall look into this, thank you! I want these two to be with the same bank however, I have a spare Halifax account which I will move some emergency funds into.0 -
Which banks are they? I don't know of any.
Some banks will only let you have one account of a particular type, usually those with extra benefits or bonuses, e.g. Halifax Reward account, or TSB Classic Plus, but you can have several plain and ordinary accounts.
Pardon me, I think I read this about the ones with extra benefits and assumed it was for all accounts. I have just double checked now and it's fine to open more than one! Sorry for the mixup!0
