Has anyone tried reiki?

I haven't had a good experience with reiki. I've had two sessions with two different practitioners.
If you are looking for things that are free, that can help with stress, look into meditation and tai chi. Meditation is scientifically proven to have all kinds of benefits. You could also look into earthing/grounding- it's a very new idea, and so there are not a huge amount of scientific studies to back it up (though there are some), but I definitely think there is something in it, and I have incorporated it into my daily life. I've tried Reiki at a wellbeing fair & rather enjoyed it. It was a freebie, but I'd definitely give it a go as it was so relaxing.
Also tried Tai Chi, but that didn't have a calming effect for me
You could try counselling & mindfulness .... available on NHS.
All the best

Im a Reiki master so obviously i think it works . No self respecting Reiki practitioner will tell you to stop taking medications etc . As a Holistic therapist i belive in treating the whole in all ways including conventional medication .
The very worst is that Reiki if it has no 'real' effects you have an hour or so to lay back in a quite room with soothing music which can only help your stress levelsfinances disaster but baby-stepping back to security:
2024 let's do this !!0 -
Unsubstantiated rubbish
You might want to educate yourself on the side effects of chemo and radio therapy.... the former affects the immune system, leaving the patient immuno-compromised and vulnerable to illnesses which they'd normally shake off.left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense
