Virgin another VENT

See my earlier vents.....

Please can someone from Virgin tell me why they make it so hard?
My MIL went into hospital and then to a care home. So I rang several times to cancel her phone account, got several stories why it cannot be done, all on expensive phone calls, longest was over 30mins. Finally I was told I had to get her to write in to cancel. So I wrote a letter and got her to sign it, and sent it to Virgin.
Several weeks later the phone had still not been cut off so I rang again and eventually was told they needed a power of attorney! WHY??? She is physically unsteady, not mentally!
I asked several times why the phone was still on weeks after the letter but couldn't get any answer. Then they said they needed 30 days notice and it would start today, not from my earlier calls or from the letter!
After my earlier problems I am so glad I am with another provider!

Does she pay direct debit if so cancel it .
Did you write and sent signed for if so at least you are covered .
On the whole I have had a couple of run ins with Virgin but they did rectify the account eventually.

This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.
  • My vent is that when I phoned to cancel a month ago they said I had to write and then took no notice of the letter.
Then when I phoned to complain they cancelled it! But said I had to give 30 days notice! Refused to back date it to my earlier calls and letter!
