  • My client-base is in the thousands, a mix of individuals and companies, both small and large. So a wide range of all types.and ages. But then I have worked in IT for nearly 40 years. Most work I do today is dealing with cyber security and cyber forensics. But I do still do PC repairs and teach to keep my hand in.

    I see.
As for social media. It is coincided to be one of the greatest aids devised for cyber criminals. Far to many people put to much personal information onto social media sites. Which aids the criminal to commit a crime against the user.

No idea what that has to do with any of this really, but ok. I agree many people put too much info on them and that it does help criminals.

It also greatly helps good causes, you to keep contact with family/friends and advertising (the last of which can be good and bad lol). Social Media is both one of the best things we have and one of the worst.
As for Windows 10 many users have been upgraded aginest their wishes due to updates to 7 and 8 to do automation upgrade to 10. One of the main reasons that some still use XP is down to bespoke software not being able to run under later versions of windows. This includes many government departments.

My laptop keeps telling me I can upgrade to 10 for free. I keep closing it but it just pops up again :( I haven't actually looked if there's a way to stop it for good, maybe I should lol. But it bugs me that they're trying to force it.

Surely it shouldn't ever be a completely automatic, unstoppable update? A massive update such as that should include warnings and are you sure messages.

I've found most old software to run fine on newer OS. Things that don't I either use compatibility mode or find a patch/update. Only ever had issues with 1 game to which I finally found a patch for.

I'd have thought for most software that over the years it would get updated and the updates would include being compatible with upgrades to the OS, especially now as XP is not supported.

For anyone that is interested. PayPal have concluded their investigation and closed the case in my favour. They said the listing was clear and was not misleading. They also said I was transparent and did not lie to the buyer.

The buyer is now harassing me with emails saying she tried PayPal who did not help her and that she has opened the item but still wants her money back. Is this where I start ignoring her or could she now open a case on eBay?

Thanks for all your help guys. I really appreciate it.

    Good to hear!

No, she can't open another case. You can only open one case either by ebay or Paypal (not both).

Decision has been made. You could give her info on charging it if you haven't already but I doubt she cares, she's seemingly just after a refund. Ignore the messages and if she keeps harassing you then just report her.

You can block her as a buyer. You might be able to block her sending messages too, I can't remember for sure.

I would send one final message stating that the reason Paypal didn't help her was simply because she was in the wrong and that you now consider the matter closed.

Then ignore any further messages that may be sent by her.

I wouldn't word it that way, OP would be likely to anger her! I know you can report them if they send angry messages, but best to keep it polite and that could across quite rude.

OP could point out that it was ebay/paypals decision, but I wouldn't say she was wrong even if you're saying ebay think she's wrong.
