their decision to dupe the buying public has cost me money on re sale that's what bothers me.

That's a nope to my question then.

Were you /are you intending to sell your vehicle imminently?

Well the best way forward will be to sell your car and quantify your losses. Then you might be in a position to make a claim. Whether anyone agrees is another matter.

Until that time you have nothing.

    By how much?

I think SCO is claiming the VW group itself. At least that's how it reads!

Losses? Nah but I'll have the company please!

It would be a class action law claim, firm says over 150 they are claiming for.

And some fell on stony ground...

I'm looking forward to the speculative phone calls

"I'm calling about your VW car"
    "I don't own one"
    "have you ever owned one?"
    "No"
    "any German car?"
    "No"
"have you ever been to Germany?"

    ..........................
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

By cheating the emissions test the cars might have gone into a lower Vechicle Tax band. So this means that it is actually saving you money!.

Not if being in a lower tax band had been taken into consideration at purchase.

The emissions 'cheat' software relates mainly to NOx levels. Road Fund Licence bands are based solely on CO levels.

I don't think the price of second hand VW's has gone down at all. I have been monitoring the prices of 2.0 Sciroccos for a while now and they seem to be around the same price.
