vodafone upgrade , some advice wanted please

my contract with vodafone is up on the 20th, i have my pac code here, ive got no issues with vodafone so dont mind upgrading however....

i would like a bigger phone, the only one i fancy is the sony z5 premium which isnt released until the 20th (according to moneysupermarket).

if i move onto 3 payg for a month or two until the z5 is out will i lose my vodafone upgrade discount ?

if my pac code runs out and i stay with vodafone for a few more weeks after my contract has ended what tariff am i put onto ?

is their any other great BIG phones at the same price or lower roughly ?

any tips for me at all ?

Yes, if you leave you will no longer be upgrading.

If you don't use your PAC then nothing changes.

PS, before Grumbler sees your post, it's a PAC, which stands for Port Authorisation Code, not a PAC code.

Do they really offer a discount?
Have you compared the upgrade deals available to you to the deals for new customers, particularly via CPW and similar third parties and with taking Quidco/TCB into account?

to be honest yes & no, first had a call from vf after i asked for my pac code, offering me the z5 standard for £29 per month , just been on live chat to vf rententions see if any prices were available yet on the z5 premium and they offered me a worse package at £39 for the same z5 standard, they even had the nerve to say they had added my 20% vea discount to make it such a great deal

i can get a better deal via moneysupermakret on vf for less money, and thats not including quidco etc etc in fact i can pre order the z5 premium on vf for just over £30 a month.

im not sure what they are playing at but its pretty much me moving to 3 payg tomororw as i just got the unlock code tonight to make my phone unlocked.

like i said i have no issues with vf, but at the same time , i will be damned to pay over the odds for their service when their is so much competition
