I've seen the odd couple of listings that were shared equity on a rent to buy basis - you pay a significantly reduced price for the house, and then a somewhat elevated market rate rental, and after 10 - 15 years you've bought out the property. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Renting privately threw someone you know ? or private landlords ? or you mean estate agents ?
Renting privately is when you rent from a private landlord rather than a social landlord such as a council or housing association.
From some of your questions it sounds as though this will be your first time living away from home. I think you really need to research your options carefully before making a decision so you can find the housing solution that's right for you.
Edit: You might find it useful to read the stickies at the top of the House Buying, Renting and Selling forum.0 -
I'm looking to rent a house but everytime I try to get anywhere estate agents etc they come back saying I'm not earning enough money to be able to cover the cost of the rent that's what they think it's soo frustrating I can't seem to get anywhere to get on the housing ladder
I'm assuming you posted here as you want help but have failed to let us know your salary, budget and general situation despite a few people asking.
How much do you earn?
What's your budget?
Is it just you moving into the property?
What feedback has the estate agents given you?0 -

Yes what are my options ?0 -
1) do you want to buy or rent?
2) how much do you earn?
3) how much are your savings?
4) what is your job (eg qualification for some help)
5) what are the rents of properties you are looking at?
6) what are the purchase prices of properties you are looking at?0 -
Where are the stickies ?0

OP - I think you might find people more willing to help you if you stop completely ignoring their queries for information.
They CANNOT help you unless you tell us some more details. As you have been asked many times and evaded the questions completely I think your quest for knowledge will be fruitless as most of the very kind and helpful people on here will now just ignore you.0 -

I think the best thing you could do would be to talk to someone like Shelter or CAB about your options. If you've got limited budget they might suggest cheaper housing options.
There will be limits on the info they can give you. Some will require reading up yourself0
