Frustrating

I'm looking to rent a house but everytime I try to get anywhere estate agents etc they come back saying I'm not earning enough money to be able to cover the cost of the rent that's what they think it's soo frustrating I can't seem to get anywhere to get on the housing ladder

I think as a rule of thumb letting agencies use a ratio of 30:1 so your gross annual income needs to be 30 times the amount of the monthly rent. If you can't meet this affordability requirement then you'll need to lower your expectations or perhaps look at a house share if your income isn't high enough to rent any entire property.0

Yes trying to rent in the past but stopped estate agents as previous explained and now have come in to some money so looking at rent to buy but now they won't take me on so don't know what to do next to be able to get my own place0

Rent to Buy is very different from Help to Buy. With Help to Buy you'll still need a high enough income to service a mortgage.
With rent to buy what exactly would you be doing? Renting the place until you can afford to get a mortgage and then paying the current market rate for the property? Building up a discount whilst renting? I have never seen a rent to buy scheme (scheme being the operative word) that was any better than just renting privately and buying if/when you could afford to and wanted to.0 -
