if you ever ever hear me think about ebaying again - just shoot me !!
i have obviously done something wrong so when ppl are paying i have had to upgrade my paypal account and im being hit with horrendous fees
for example i sold a adidas workout top in excellent condition - i got the pricely sum of 99p for it -whoopee doo - so along with my postage im due £3.49 - well ive had to fork out 31p of that to paypal
then theres the listing fee and prolly some withdrawal fee as well
its been a very stressful experience and not something i will be repeating i can assure you - and im telling you now ill put money on that this will have ended costing me money not making me any
anyone fancy that bet ??!!!:j MFi3 wannabee :j

Hi
I've never e bayed anything either - too lazy:o. I cart it all to the charity shop and then tell myself that it's my charity contribution for the month. Interesting though, I had no idea it was like this, you can't be the only one whose lost out. I wonder if people ever regret selling stuff on e bay? I once gave some of my kid's toys to a charity shop and when they came in from school they were really upset :rolleyes2 & I had to pay £10 to buy them back. That was a bad money saving day

I never upgraded my account, just stuck a disclaimer on all of my sales to say that "I DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL" and if people paid I refused the payment within Pay Pal and sent them a polite email pointing out my disclaimer, telling them it was because I didn;t have a premium Pay Pal account and asking them to either pay directly using paypal or via a cheque.
I never had anyone back out of a sale and the worst that happened was that I had to wait for them to post a cheque. Saved a fortune in fees.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

I upgraded my account as it seemed the easiest thing to do - it does encourage you to group things into 'bundles' to sell them, as not only do you save on listing fees, but the paypal fee is 3.4% plus a flat rate of 20p. I haven't sold loads, but have been quite lucky so far. Having said that, 4 of the 6 items I have on this week have no bids yet (they end tomorrow night).
Fingers crossed - I'm not trying to make loads of money (but ut would be nice!), but it is getting rid of clutter, and extra pennies towards the mortgage-free dream.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

Don't be worried/frightened about stoozing. After I found this site a couple of years back, I started stoozing. Luckily, we have (had) a One Account mortgage, which allowed as much by way of overpayment as we could stick into it. As a lot of BT offers won't allow transfer into a bank account, instead of balance transferring to an Egg card, as a lot of people do, we put it straight onto our One Account credit card. Every week, if it's in credit, it gets swept up into our One Account.
One Accounts aren't the cheapest, but being able to overpay (and withdraw it again if needed) is great, and it's saved us thousands of pounds. Additionally, we still have the option of withdrawing up to our limit if we need or wish to. So guess who bought his Harley this year.
To cut a long story short, we haven't paid any interest in the past eighteen months, as our balance has been zero or better. We've even just taken out a couple of ISAs to get a good rate of interest on a fee-free, interest-free offer from MBNA at the beginning of this month, and are setting up two more for our sixteen & nineteen year olds.
It's great. DS just started Uni, so he's going to have around £200 extra. DD will probably use hers for clothes. We don't have to pay it back until September, so it's being put to good use.
I ebay full-time. My fees can be large, but turnover's pretty good too. I'm having to be careful to stay under the VAT thresh-hold. If you ever want to try again, pm me & I'll see if I can help.
BaffExclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -
