Amazon Refund Question

My local paper this week showed pictures of piles of unsorted parcels at our local delivery office - they reckon there are tens of thousands still waiting to be delivered.

I'm still waiting for a parcel that was posted a month ago, but a couple of hours ago my doorbell rang and there was a man in a Royal Mail orange vest with another parcel of mine that was sent 2 weeks back - it was him and another man not in proper postie uniform in a white van looking slightly disorganised with what to do/where to go next so I think the managers are spending their bank holiday weekend trying to clear some of the backlog.

I'm not sure if it's like that everywhere, but it's certainly possible that parcels are still in the postal system somewhere, and if people are delivering all weekend elsewhere then they may still arrive soon.
