9th November 2015 Tesco Bank login problem

I haven't been able to log in since yesterday evening, have rebooted my device but when I click on LOGIN it just blinks and that's it.

Is it just me or are others having problems since yesterday?

Tesco online banking has been working fine for me this morning on a PC. Logged in with no problems and made a couple of payments. Have you tried clearing cache/history/cookies?

NB. I reckon your post about "Using interest free Overdrafts" wasn't meant to be in this thread.

Phoned Tesco, there is a login failure issue for some users which they are attempting to resolve.
  • I still can't login and now tried using another device same result.

Maybe they have stopped supporting Apple IOS6. Means I am unable to use Tesco banking anymore as its been four days now that I can't login and Tesco should presumably have fixed it by now.

Using Safari browser and IOS6 is not supported by the Mobile App so can't try that as an alternative.

    Can't upgrade my IOS6 either!

    No access to a PC?

Latest app works fine on iOS9 but I guess you don't have access to that

What is it that makes you frozen on IOS6?

If I download IOS7 or more I will no longer be able to sync my iPad2 which has capability to be used with IOS9, with my Vintage iBook! Apple would love me to download IOS9 so that I would have to buy a new computer.

Going to phone Tesco again and maybe try the iBook. In the past, about three years ago, Tesco IB lost functionality for me using Safari and told me to use Mozilla Firefox which worked. Tesco have a history, for me at least, in screwing up my everyday access to their Internet banking. No problem with any other bank/BS so far ever as regards Internet banking.

If indeed your problems are caused by technology, I suppose the question you need to ask yourself is whether you want to look after your money or after technology.

But are your problems really down to technology?

Yes Tesco have confirmed my problems are really down to technology.

They acknowledged that since earlier this week SOME customers have had difficulties accessing Internet banking and that IF they updated their browser and/or IOS then they were fine.

It means that I need to buy a new computer in order to use Tesco Internet Banking as they now only support IOS7 or above. In other words Tesco have taken a decision, based on monitoring their users software, that IOS6 isn't worth the cost, effort whatever, so have decided to leave customers like me without access to their online banking.

So thanks Tesco. Not that Tesco could care less. On the phone they are a bit sheepish about admitting they have withdrawn support for IOS6.

I'm now a Tesco Bank telephone banking customer:(

BBC recently stopped supporting iPlayer for IOS6 and I'm having trouble getting new tyres for my Penny Farthing!:)

So yes it's not my fault or my error apart from apparently being a Luddite which in Apples' case and their followers takes about 3 years to gain such status;)

    From Tesco Technical Support page:

    Supported browsers for online banking.

Our aim is to make Online Banking easy to access for all our customers.

We maintain a focus on our customers needs, including which browsers and devices are being used to access Online Banking so that we understand what we should support and why.

:( OK so Tesco Bank promotes social exclusion by punishing those customers that can't or don't want to have up to the minute latest versions of browsers and operating systems and it's OK to stop these customers accessing their online banking without informing them in advance of their intent to withdraw previously provided support, and in contravention of their claimed aims, don't make online banking easy to access for ALL ( that includes me) of their customers.
