Yes I started temporary in my job... 12 years ago

Before that I spent 6 years in a temporary Christmas job

Yes temp jobs can definitely turn into permanent. My wife had a short temp job with a local company which only ran for a couple of weeks instead of the 3 months it was expected to. A few weeks later she got a call from the same company out of the blue inviting her back for a 6 month fixed term contract. At the end of that she was offered a permanent job and is still there some 3 years later.

My first job was a 5 week temp Christmas position. I stayed on for another 7 years... Supported me through school and uni...

    Good luck!

It definitely happens. I once had a temp job for a week, which turned into three months, and then I left two years later.

In my current job, I'm seven years into a six-month assignment.

Even if it doesn't immediately continue after the 12 weeks, they will at least have got to know you and know your work ethics etc, which will give you an advantage over others when and if a permanent post arises.

Always let them know you would rather have a perm position if that is what you want x

My current perm position only allows 4 weeks of company probation so you've plenty of time really to impress :D
  • It can, IF you you impress AND the company has the funding for a perm role
