*Another* SCS Issue!

Morning all,
Just a brief summary of our issues with SCS...
Ordered sofa in January 2015
Delivered in March, was broken on delivery. Our friend had to be there as we were both at work and we ended up accepting it.
Engineer came out in May to repair the sofa, again our friend had to be there. Sofa fixed but now a large gap between the two sections and one section sits about an inch to 2 inches forward from the other section.
August - a loud pop and the recliner doesn't work any longer.
September/october - engineer finally comes out to repair sofa, turns out the first engineer left the plug wires under a section that meant when we reclined the sofa it squashed the wire which eventually split and short circuited. He repairs it, and takes away a letter we were told to write to SCS. The metal is all twisted and bent out of shape from us sitting on it... now, we are not exactly obese but my OH is 6'6 so if he is too heavy for it, why sell us it in the first place!
Fast forward to today and we have had no response so OH calls them and we are told we have no comeback as sofa was repaired.
So... what are our next steps? We have had the sofa for 8 months and it's been broken twice due to their incompetence. Do we contact trading standards? Sent a more formal complaint letter to SCS? Contact the bank to try and claim money back under section 75?
It's been 11 months since ordering the sofa, but they take so long at everything... responding, sending engineers out... it's frustrating!
Thank you!!!

A sofa with a weight limit is complete tosh, unless you're talking like >~ 25st...
It's likely the frame was twisted to begin with as the vast majority of the time they get damaged in transit to the store before delivery, is it still twisted? It doesn't sound as though it's been repaired, if thats the case send them a letter before action then if they still fail to fix it start a section 75.0 -

Thanks... he didn't say it was a weight limit but said it would likely just bend and twist with general sitting on it. So definitely not 'fit for purpose'! We are both hardly ever really at home so it's not like we are jumping on it all day! Will look up the letter you suggest.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

So I sent the letter on 17th November.
Last Thursday/Friday my OH gets a call to say they are acknowledging the letter and will respond within 72 hours.
Today he gets a call to say our complaint is now on the system and being passed to the relevant department who will get back to us.
I sense some fobbing off and delaying tactics. Going to try to speak to the bank this weekend about Section 75. It's possibly via RBS though who appears to be awful at these claims.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Still waiting for OH to contact his bank. He has just spoken to SCS and they say it was our fault the sofa broke the second time (even though the second engineer said it was the first engineer!) and that they have informed us of this that and the other, and it's now the christmas break so nothing will be processed. He was clearly following a script and had no interest in what OH had to say. What a bunch of complete AR**HOLES!!!
Fingers crossed we can get something back via Section 75.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16
