Had an american fridge freezer from AO was a good experience as previously mentioned doors had to be taken off on the fridge freezer to fit through door was all done in 10 minutes installed in place for nothing. The delivery drivers were excellent and it was all done without fuss for no charge..I would use them again definately0

Some brands come directly from the manufacturer.0

Look, IMHO I have recently used both and both are reasonable - though I do particularly appreciate the AO text alert of delivery myself.
Please Note Though:
If you are purchasing a new refrigerator; freezer; or fridge/freezer these will normally need to stand (for a minimum suggested four hours usually) to allow refrigerant gasses to settle before being connected.
So check what they will do before you part with any money for connecting.0 -

Good point - never had an installer hang around for 4 hours before switching on ...
I will ask currys how they get around this0 -

Currys don't need to get around this. With ours, they put it in the space it was going in and told us to plug it in and switch on after about 4 hours.
A further point- the freezer gets down to temperature fairly quickly but the fridge often takes a few days to stabilise at its final temperature.0 -
Paying them to 'install' a fridge (unless a plumbed-in US type) is as insane as paying them to 'install' a toaster...
They place it in position, you plug it in after settling. Job done.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The guy who delivered mine said to ignore the four hour guideline and that it's better to leave them SIX hours, especially the larger American ones. The coolant needs time to settle before allowing the motor to run otherwise you risk mechanical failure.0

We have had a Washing machine, American Fridge Freezer, Dishwasher and cooker hood so far from AO - and every time, they were polite, helpful, delivered at the time specified, called before they arrived, took the handles off the fridge freezer and replaced them once through the door - and refused a cuppa for their time! Saturday deliveries cost no more than some other weekdays so are ideal for us.
We have a new cooker arriving this weekend from AO - and I have no doubt that it will be just as wonderful as the other items were.
Much preferred over Currys.0 -
We had a vented tumble drier from Co-op Electrical, didn't bother requesting installation but the guys who delivered it had it all connected up and ready to go in minutes at no extra charge without us asking them to do this. They took all packaging with them too. Great service and might be worth a look."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

With AO and their 'helpful and friendly' call to confirm the order and check everything is as you wanted it to be, don't forget that this is where they take every opportunity to sell you their extended warranty.
And do also remember that some appliances have longer warranty than the twelve months we come to expect, so this may need to be registered after delivery - expect the maker to offer an extension when you do register, as well!
AND depending on your bank account or credit card, you may well already have an extended warranty if you use the right method of payment.
