    Snap on doesn't have slots.
  • I am trying to replace my Sekonda watch battery which I have asked a question about in another Forum. I guess from what you say it must be a snap on type as my watch does not have any slots so i cannot be the screw on type. That is a help for a starter

Photo explains, you can buy a watch back removal kit quite cheaply from Amazon or eBay and DIY for a awful lot less than the jewellers charge.

Use a thin knife, NOT the sharp (non stainless) type, do not press down on the glass. Never needed a special tool, for the unscrew type use a small screwdriver mind your hands!

In the past I used a calliper or big tweezers.
  • Buy a tool off ebay or amazon. Some are a !!!!! to snap back and some are easy.

    Hi

Before you start ordering tools etc, have you asked at a shop how much it woud be ? You will probably find its less than £10.

    Snap on doesn't have slots.

My watch has a screw on back but doesn't have slots. It has a a slight raised ridge that is grooved like this one.

You might want to get some silicone grease as well if it's a water resistant watch and you want to keep it that way. A small tube will be around £3. Used it when I replaced the battery in my Casio G-Shock, and it's survived underwater since. :)
