India is a nice place to travel to then?

India isn't everyone's cup of tea (chai?) but it's certainly mine. Unless you decide to base yourself in somewhere like Goa you have to change your mindset somewhat. Even Goa is an eye opener, though. Don't get fazed by seeing 5 or 6 people on a motorbike and/or driving on the wrong side of the road. Don't worry when there's a power cut and learn to take things in your stride and there's an awful lot to be said about the country.

I want to go to Darjeeling one day but getting there is a hassle so I don't know when that'd be. Also, the last time I looked the visa fee was around £100 which puts me off.

They've recently introduced E-visa where you apply in advance on-line (instead of having to send your application and passport off) which is cheaper but it's only for stays up to 30 days.

I've just come back from my trip which took in Singapore, New Zealand, Australia & Hong Kong. In total my passport was stamped three times (2 x Singapore & 1 NZ). If this is anything to go by you'd do very well to fill any passport let along a large one.

Agreed. I travel a lot, and once almost managed to fill a 32-page passport.
