Odd isn't it that this sort of thing suddenly dawns on you.
I must start writing reports soon, really feel like going back to bed as I have an achy back, aching legs, a headache, earache and oh joy of joys, a stye. I shall ignore them. Washing now whizzing round, that's another thing to be Iimpressed about, washing machines.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Hi everyone,
We had DS and fiancee round for dinner last night because their new kitchen still hasn't been installed. It was delivered on Friday and DH had to sign for it and had to return the wooden worktop because the box was sodden and the top water damaged. The delivery man said he had queried it with the warehouse who sent it out but they told him to take it anyway!
Today I want to start my pre-Christmas sort out and clean. I know it seems early but the decs will be coming out in another few weeks and I like the house to be pristine before I put them out.
HH and TA, thinking about you.0 -
Good Morning everyone, a much better day here today as it's dry and breezy so the bedding is flapping wildly on the line in the garden and the second washload is nearly finished, it's one of lifes greatest pleasures for me to be able to dry outside and I love getting the dry clothes in and folding them I just love the fresh smell, I'm sad I know!!! I think we're going to a vintage furniture shop today as I want to replace the dining room table and chairs, it's light wood ercol and I want a smaller dark but extendable table, the one we have is way too big for the two of us and ends up as a dumping ground for all He Who Knows ongoing projects. It's been covered with paperwork and next years veg seeds for a couple of weeks now while he sorts out and discards out of date packets. I'm hoping that a smaller table will not lend itself so well to stuff being left, we'll see!
I can just see him coming back from walking Cookie so I'll go make him coffee, have yourselves a nice day all, Lyn xxx.0 -
It looks as if it is going to be a nice day so putting the washing machine on and will hand things outside later.

I would never think of you as weak and vulnerable but as a strong, caring and compassionate woman. We all have a wobble from time to time and emerge the stronger for it.
Hester
Fingers crossed for you all and hope you take any chance you can to relax or just have some peace and quiet to recharge.
I just realised the chalet bungalow I have been looking at has a conservatory (which I have always wanted), a multi fuel stove, a gas hob and is two council tax bands lower than this one with an easily maintained garden. I would not have to go upstairs at all and there is space for the family to stay upstairs when they visit.
After the initial shock I am getting quite excited!
Think I will be on my own tonight so planning on making chicken and veg soup and perhaps an omelette for lunch. Still sulking at the scales but going to keep plodding on with "healthy eating".

Hope you are all right as I have not seen you posting recently.

Only just get in time with good morning to all :j
Had really bad night last sleep wise, I tore my rotary cuff earlier in the year and it only seemed to calm down after an enforced week in bed during May with tonsillitis, the last few weeks it's starting to twinge again and now am getting a lot of pain again so will goback to the docs this week. Hopefully will get referred for Physio and get some stronger pain killers.
My DOH got up with the girls and walked them bless him, am up and about now but feel a bit groggy so will take it easy today, luckily the house was down right through Friday/Saturday, the WM is on with the bedding in it but as drizzly here they will have to go on the airers.
Elona - That chalet bungalow sounds lovely, fingers crossed all goes well with your sale
Judi - Sounds to me that you are doing your very best for all loved ones, strength to you.
Hester - Thinking of you, likewise Mrs & Mr TA
Am also new to this thread but have been made to feel so welcome so am sure you will also accept a relatively newcomers best wishes.

Morning......((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Go for it Elona if everything is ok, survey wise etc. We have never regretted moving to this bungalow, its brilliant. No stairs to fall up or down.
Very windy, laundry out, hope it dries a bit, I used extra leccy last week, had to use the dryer.
We are changing our Dr. to the local practice in the next village, we have to travel into town to go to the Drs, so it seems sensible. Less fuel used up, apart from anything else.0 -
Thanks for your words of comfort. They are much appreciated.
Thinking of Mr TA who, if i remember correctly is having his treatment today. I hope all is going well. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon all
Well it's all over, my lovely MIL died at 1:30 today, FIL, my hubby & I and one other DIL stayed with her to the end. BIL2 was absent, thrown offsite early morning for starting a brawl with FIL, BIL 3 & 4 sat in another room unable to sit with their mother.

I am so sorry - not just for the loss of your MIL but for the fact that only some of the family felt unable to be there. Thank heavens she had you, DH and FIL as well as another DIL.
You did so well for her and the rest of the family and no one could have done better.
I hope the troublemaking BIL has the decency to shut up and stay away.
