Nursery shuts - childcare voucher money back?

We chose a nursery for our son that was connected to a school but mid-way through the term the school (including the nursery) went into the liquidation. The school has very few assets (it turns out the school grounds were leased) so I'm not very optimistic about getting any money back from the liquidators.

We paid the term's fees up front with a significant proportion from childcare vouchers. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether any special conditions apply to childcare vouchers in these circumstances? (a bit like credit cards where you can claim payments back if you feel you haven't been given the service/product you paid for).

I assume this is an unusual situation and couldn't see anything about it or on our childcare provider's website so I'm probably clutching at straws in hoping there might be special circumstances around childcare vouchers but just thought I'd ask!

Thanks in advance.

I can't easily find anything about this on google.

Ask you employer/HR Dept if they have come across this situation before. They may be able to find out more easily than you, and they have an interest in you still being able to come to work.

You might be able to ask the childcare voucher company if they have any way to claw back the funds. You may have paid the voucher company, but the nursery may not have claimed all the funds from the voucher company yet.
