OH organised stag with a company called chilli sauce. That meant all the money went through them.

They went quad biking, hiking and archery over the course of 2 days and it cost about £160 p/person. They stayed in a travel lodge which was included in the cost.

They absolutely loved the activities rather than staggering around night clubs.

All in all, including drinks/food etc I think the whole weekend came in under £230 each.

I organised a friend's hen party and she wasnt much of a drinker, nor the raucous behaviour type!

We did late morning tea and cakes in a nice hotel, then a matinee performance of the lion king, then a decent (vegetarian friendly!) restaurant. She loved it.

On another similar hen party we did pottery painting, where we all painted mugs for the bride and groom.

Have also done go karting before at a hen party which was fabulous!

The most boring hen parties I have been to were the alcohol based ones!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

First step Ask the bride who she wants at the hen night -eg just friends , cousins too? work friends? what about her Mum and any aunties .

Get email addresses for all of them or set up a private facebook group and add them all

Decide if you are surprising the bride or if she knows what is happening in advance

Are the party paying for the bride or not

Find a date that suits everyone ( a facebook group is good for this)

Lay out costs - and if people need to pay a deposit up front (tends to sort of the girls from the women and people are more likely to show up if they've paid part in advance)

Those would be my frst "How to organize" steps which I think is what you are asking rather than ideas for things to do.

  • You can't have a good hen party without strippers and alcohol.

A mans stag do isn't a stag do unless they end up in a strip club or a brothel.

You cant beat getting smashed and chucking up on the pavement.

I would forego the wedding if the above was obligatory! Even if I was the bride!

That sounds like an amazing hen do to me (mainly because it's not your stereotypical 'hen'!) :)

Me and dd are organising my nieces hen do, she's not a party person and has said she would like to go somewhere for high tea. I'm quite looking forward to it, so is my sister :)

Your niece's fiance is a lucky guy :embarasse
Afternoon tea then back to someone's house for a bottle of wine and a battle of Monopoly?!

Please don't attempt to "surprise" anybody, especially the bride. I personally wouldn't want to attend anything that cost hundreds of pounds that involved travelling long distances - people might say that such things are fine but would probably prefer to save the money for a holiday with their own partners.

For most people I would have thought a fun activity followed by a nice meal out would be plenty.

My Friend had a hen weekend last year. She wanted an overnight thing and wanted to be surprised so she created a Whatsapp group to agree the best date with everyone she was inviting and then exited the group. A few months later the maid of honour told us via the group that we were going 4x4 driving, dinner in town and a retro nightclub in the evening. She booked it through a company so that we paid deposits with them as collecting money is a nightmare. We booked ourselves into the nearest Premier Inn and booking early meant the best savings there, as the late bookers paid three times as much.

Having the Whatsapp group was good as we talked between ourselves and arranged for people to give each other lifts and share rooms. We also arranged small gifts and surprises for the bride.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
