ground stability IDENTIFIED

i am in the process of buying a new property but i have a report come back from landmark with a warning Ground Stability : IDENTIFIED
the enquiry states the potential for natural instability in the area within 50m and a result of Moderate. this information is from The British Geological Survey and says the area of search as having moderate potential for natural ground instability.
does anyone out there know what this could mean and what i should do now any help would be greatly appreciated

Is your new property 'new' or just new to you?
If new in the usual sense of the word, you should ask the builders what measures have been taken to acknowledge the moderate level of risk here. You could also talk to local building control in general terms about any problems in the area.
If it's an older house, you might usefully employ a local structural engineer to advise, both on the ground conditions and on the structure of the property itself. This might be more (or less) useful than a structural survey/homebuyer's report, depending on the general condition of the house.0 -

Holes like the one in the picture usually come from an uncontrolled mains water burst that hasn't triggered any alarms with the utility company I wad; maybe bcause the detection systems were fitted and the leak was already present and accepted in the readings as normal? All that has to happen is a weak spot being found like a shaft or porous rock. I'm sure a ground tech will explain them much better.0
