Afternoon all
Well after yesterday when we were convinced MIL was unlikely to last the night, this morning we visited to find her sat up in bed eating a bowl of porridge, she was alert and chatty.
We didn't stay too long as we didn't want to tire her out. FIL arrived whilst we were there, brought in by another family member. FIL was very nervous, he's been contacted again by BIL2 insisting no one visits except BIL2 & his wife.
FIL is being blamed by BIL2 for not keeping people away, we are visiting again on Monday & I will have another conversation with the staff about BIL2's bullying. The staff have done really well and BIL2 now leaves the room when other visitors arrive, but these abusive calls to FIL must stop, otherwise I will get the police involved.
I'm putting my feet up now for an hour with a cuppa and my favourite book.
I'm doing roast chicken later with yorkies, roast pots, carrots, broccoli, peas & pigs in blankets, hubby's favourite.

Afternoon all,
Special hugs to Hester, TA and Csarina.....and anyone else in need.
Very wet here today earlier, sunny at present, will no doubt be more rain soon.
Had a visit from DSIL yesterday, she is very agitated at present, she is selling her house and accepted a good offer on it several weeks ago, the wouldbe buyer is coming back looking for different things to be clarified almost every week and has only paid a
deposit....she is finding it all so upsetting as I think that she thought that once the offer was accepted things would move quickly......she hasnt seen a house she wants to buy yet, which is another problem, she comes to us for a rant as none of her 3 daughters seem to be helpful.
We had bacon, cabbage, carrotsand potato for dinner.....I am trying to stick to lots of veg and smaller helpings of potato and meat....my cholesterol level recently was 6.1, so have to visit my GP on Tuesday to discuss treatment.....I am very anti statins so not sure what will happen...hence cutting down (a little) count was 6.1 12 years ago when I had it tested last, but maybe being 70 itsnot the best to ignore it all.
I am collecting DGS2 from his Daddy's later to bring him home, so will have a chat with the twins, they will be 16 weeks on Tuesday and we now get lots of smiles and chat so its really lovely to see them
Tomorrow we want to get some replacement glassnfor the greenhouse, just 2 sheets but it isnt easy to get, I have found a stockist not too far away......might do a bit of Christmas shopping too, just 6 weeks now.
Need a cuppa before heading off into the wild blue yonder, have a good evening everyone.

Well the skirt was delicious ,I cubed it , tossed it in seasoned flour , sealed it in the frying pan and bunged it in the slow cooker with onions , stock , Tomato pur!e and a glug of brandy , let it cook for 5-6 hours and it was so tender , it's a definite hit and I will buy it again.:j
Not sure why it won't allow me to write pur!e, it's changing it for some reason0 -

Good idea to involve the police if FIL is scared. Hope everything calms down a bit for you.
Feel a little stunned as having turned down the house offer because I did not think it was possible to get moved out and sold before Christmas - I just had a phone call from the estate agent upping the offer and saying there would be no time pressure out on me :j
I did point out it could be as late as February before I got things finalised but was told that was not a problem. Talked to family and decided to accept and dds are talking up the merits of a chalet bungalow they saw (did not appear on a search as it appears as a "house") and it does look nice.
DDs and SIL have just set off after having a meal and dishwasher is loaded so relaxing in front of tv and feeling less anxious.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"
