Hate to nag but I do think you should get some rest before things get even more stressful.

Torrential rain just started so glad I have laundry dried inside overnight. Middle dd stayed over and has just gone off to the gym after a quick breakfast together. Not sure what to make for lunch so will look at a new SW recipe book for ideas. Tonight will be hanger steak with mash, SW roast potatoes and green veg and maybe chicken breasts stuffed with a little mustard or garlic and wrapped in bacon.

Feel less stressed since I refused the house offer which was very low and wanted me moved before Christmas.

Good luck on the train journey and I hope things go smoothly for you both.

    Hugs to all

  • Morning, (((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

OH is getting slower at getting up, so did breakfast in bed for us both. He seems to be slowing down quite a bit since his last visit to hospital.

Horrid morning very grey and dank, rain once again persisting down, will have to use the dryer for the laundry tomorrow, the forecast is dire. Think I will have to up the payment to SSE to cover it.

No plans for the day, no point going anywhere in the rain.

    Morning all,

I have the bedding stripped and in the wash it will have to go on the airer today as its raining again. DD is off to town with my sister for shopping I might pop in myself later on but will take my own car as my sister will spend all day there and I like to pop in and out quick !

Mum bought us a reduced cooked chicken from Mr T yesterday so we will have that for dinner with some salad and coleslaw and bread and butter so a nice easy dinner.

House is fairly tidy I just need to re make the bed and clean bathroom, OH will help.

Hester thinking of you all, the waiting for it to happen is horrible, hope her passing is peaceful xx

TA safe journey and good luck I will be thinking of you xx

    Have good days all xx
  • H/H put everything down and go and just lie down on your bed and relax, even if its only for an hour ,you will need all your strength for the coming days .You MIL's fight is almost over and she is peaceful and pain-free,as you should try to be. You have done miracles in fighting for someone you obviously cared for, and now its time to start caring for yourself Your OH will need all of your support.I think I speak for everyone on here who have been thinking of you these past few weeks.
Well done honey you are an amazing lady and one I would be proud to have in my corner fighting for me.Now stop for an hour, take a deep breath, and get some rest.:A:A

Today the sun is shining here in north Kent and I've just returned from a quick shop.watching the service last night on TV reminds me of how lucky we all are to have such brave men and women in our armed forces
I shall sign off now as its almost 11.00 and I will remember all in my family who served and lost their fight

    Hi everyone,

LWW - I'd be a bit cautious about having my neck cracked. When I went to see the neuro-surgeon with DD that was the one thing he strongly told her not to do, he said they saw people all the time who had been badly damaged by having their necks cracked.

Skirt steak has become quite trendy - I think they call it bavette in the posh eateries, they cook it very quickly and say it has a lot of flavour. I've had it but found it still very chewy, like Hester I prefer mine in a snake and pygmy pie, which is what I was going to make for dinner tonight.

Yesterday didn't go entirely to plan, not all the pieces of the shelves turned up for DD's cellar so that didn't get done. It was given a thorough clean out and a lot of rubbish taken to the tip and we collected paint for them, it's quite difficult for them to get bulky purchases home without a car.

Today DH is going to help DS with his DIY (no rest for the capable dad) and I will probably do some sewing and make the aforesaid pie and an apple crumble, with probably a mushroom pie for DS' fiance who would not touch kidney at any price.

    Have a good day.
  • Morning all,

TA - hope it all goes well, sending you and Mr TA a (((hug)))

    Dry today thankfully.

Had a lovely day yesterday with DS2's GF and the baby. Took him to the shops - had fun trying to fit the buggy in my car - I think I will need a bigger car before any grandchildren arrive!
He slept well last night, went down about eleven after his feed and apart from waking with some sort of discomfort at midnight he slept until 8am, which was brilliant :)

Need to go and sort out the washing now.

    Happy Sunday :)
  • Snoozer.. No fear of doing any damage as the man i see is brilliant in his work..he is taking it slow with me to avoid any damage . We having been going to him for years for different things in the family and always feel better afterwards..Docs just tell me its the vegus nerve and to take painkillers but they dont help.
Well shopping done and coffee cake made and iced. WM finished and TD nearly done. Leek and pot soup cooking away just got to fry off some bacon to add before serving yummy.
DD1 and DGD wanted to pop over this afternoon but i suggested we pop to her as DGD has more toys to play with and behaves better at home (dont ike her being told off)
Still no sign of DD2 she must be still recovering lol
    Bright Blessings xx

    Morning

Firstly thoughts and hugs to HH and TA.

Grey and damp here, washing on airer, it wont dry outside, am resisting putting the tumble drier on. We recently had one of the smart meters installed, so I can see exactly what we are spending, I was always quite frugal, but this really makes you take note. Also makes me query why when Im only spending on average £2.50 a day, my supplier wants to put my payments up to £109 a month, I will definitely be calling them on Monday. I hadnt done until now as wanted to check in case it did go up a bit.
Good news DS has got a job,its only part time for now, but they have said it will increase soon. He was really sad when his summer job came to an end, they kept him on as long as they could and said they would be in touch to see if hes available next year.
Will have both kids home next weekend, really looking forward to that, it will be last time before Christmas. Which I realise is not that long away now. Our local greengrocers lets you pre-order your fruit, veg etc, and you can make payments towards it as and when or just pay when you collect, I have paid a bit when I was under on my food budget so wont have a lot to pay when I collect on 22 December. With that and this bits I have been buying each week, I am feeling quietly confident that there wont be a last minute panic for anything. Oh except DH present as he doesnt know what he wants.

DW partially loaded, dinner things will go in later, roast chicken and veg, followed by crumble and custard today. No point in vacuuming or washing kitchen floor as dog in and out, he wants to be out but every time he hears a noise comes dashing back in. Poor thing has been really spooked this past week.
Think its time for some lunch, leftover salad from last nights dinner.
    Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

    Hello everyone,

Seems like ages since I posted, combination of still doing work on the house and looking after DGchildren etc etc. but I try and read everyday and want to send love and hugs to HH,TA and Csarina at a challenging time for you all

DH has been to buy the flooring for the dining room/kitchen this morning so its all piled up under the breakfast bar,at least its out of the way of me tripping up over it!I'm really pleased with the new kitchen, though will still have to wait till more money comes in to get the DW and freezer but you cant really see the gaps unless you go right into the kitchen area so I'm not that bothered, the flooring is more of a priority.DGD (4)likes it too,she keeps 'washing up' and pretending she works in a cafe taking orders :rotfl:

We have been getting rid of some furniture on eebay that we cant fit in this house, someone is hopefully coming this afternoon to pick up a chest. It was sold a week ago and this is the 3rd time he's said he's coming  We have to squeeze past it in the hall everytime we go out,and its sold for peanuts really.Ah well.

Lyla has been badly upset by the fireworks over the past few days, even though she's been having her tablets.Hopefully its nearly done with for another year.

I have a lamb joint for tea I got off the market, can't remember the last time we had roast lamb so looking forward to that with all the trimmings, might make some mince pies too as there is half a jar that needs using up in the fridge.
Hope you all have peaceful Sundays x
