What is the minimum PAYG top up amount and number expiry time?

What is the minimum PAYG top up amount either online or at Paypoint (excluding top ups in the respective network store)?

How long can a number be left without making a paid call but whilst receiving calls during that period?

    £5 is possible. Possibly you'll find smaller.

    How long - depends on the provider. Typically it's 180 days, but can be much shorter.

    £5 normally.

    180 days is the norm. but can be as little as 90 days.

    Giffgaff 180 days but a £10 minimum top up ,is a good bet because unlike other suppliers in order to keep your account active, and ensure you don't lose the credit, a call or text to the number is also counted, as well as the normal makeing a call sending a text from the phone,or useing data . So your credit could last a long time.

    Handy if its just being used for incoming only calls.

    I top up £2 at a time on White Mobile.

    You can top up even lower amounts. If you have an Orange SIM go to an EE store and you can top up 10 pence.
    :footie:
    :p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • Trouble is White Mobile only give you 60 days to call or text etc.So can be overlooked.

    It's not as easy and clear now as it used to be:
    Our rights to bar or disconnect your SIM Card
    13.3. Your SIM Card will be disconnected unless, at least once every six months, your Account is used to:
    • a) make at least one call, SMS or MMS to another number (not including calls to emergency services or Member Services);
    • b) make at least one connection to the Internet;
    • c) make at least 4 received calls of more than 10 seconds;
    • d) make at least one airtime credit or Bundle purchase; or
    • e) receive Payback Points.
    (c) is very confusing. Without (a) I would read it as making at least 4 calls that are answered.

    I tried this a few months ago and was told that the minimum was £10(?). It was a EE sim though, not Orange.

    I've had a Three sim (PAYG) for about 5 (?) years now
    It has *never* had any credit on it and is used only for incoming calls.

    I'm told that I'm very lucky and that it could be disconnected at any time.
