I have so much stuff in the loft/attic. Have you, and when will I get rid?

The loft still has quite a bit of stuff in it, but we did have a sortout a year or so ago. Got rid of a lot of stuff, some junk in boxes that hadn't been opened since we moved in. Took it all out, boarded the attic, made some nice freestanding shelving to keep things organised. Plus a cut down flatpack wardrobe that was dismantled, truncated in height and reassembled up there (the standing upright area is only about 18 inches wide) - really useful as a repository for stuff that would be easily damaged.
Some reasonably valuable stuff that Ebayed pretty well (80's and 90's computer kit goes well on the whole - an IBM XT, 2 Spectrums, a QL, a Psion Series 5 went for good money, couldn't sell the Atari ST though. Valve radios go for decent money is working. So do older typewriters).
Most of what is up there now is boxes of photos and sentimentals, a few toys that are useful when the nephews and nieces as over, a lot of overflow cookware (missus is a caterer by training, has stuff that is used on an infrequent basis as a result). Oh and Xmas decorations, suitcases. Also no longer current paperwork (old bank statements, bills etc) from the filing cabinet in filing boxes.0 -
We had a nice clear loft when we moved in, I have not filled it yet as I intend to put some wooden panels up there to make it safer to walk across.
It currently has a few empty boxes, one being an iMac box, one being a TV box. The Christmas decorations get stored up there after Christmas and eventually maybe a few old electrical items, amp, desktop pc, etc. but this wont be happening until I panel up there.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Completely cleared my loft earlier on in the year. Several reasons why, mainly because of my obsession for a neat and tidy house and another reason if there was anything up there that was needed (such as the Christmas tree) it took a load of nagging to get hubby or my son to go up there and i'm not safe on a set of ladders.
The sheds, i despair, i really do. I'm hoping that by the time the small shed falls into disrepair we can stick all the garden stuff in the bigger shed. At the moment, thats an impossibility. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
