Barclays overdraft issues HELP

Hello - I need a little bit of help, and maybe some advice
I have had a Barclays Additions Plus account (The one that charges around £15 for not alot), for quite a while. When I upgraded the account, I found that my overdraft had dissapeared, and it took three or four days to get it back. At the time, I was in credit, so It wasn't so much of an issue.
I started to read this site, and took the plunge in downgrading to a First Additions account. This makes the monthly payments to around £6 a month.
However, in downgrading, Barclays have removed my £700 overdraft (AGAIN), leaving me £400 overdrawn, with no overdraft facility. They admit that this is their mistake, but I'm left not being able to draw money out, on a bank holiday weekend.
Now, the problem is being sorted, thats fine. But I know from working in finance that they won't compensate me for inconvenience. I will only get compensation if I have suffered financial loss.
So, I know it may be cheeky in asking, but how do you think I should deal with my complaint??
Thanks in advance!!
Marc

Why are you left without any money?
Surely if they are sorting it out you should be able to get cash at the counter and surely the O/D facility will be marked by the end of business today so ATM withdrawals could be made tomorrow?0 -
If you incur any fees as a result of their mistake then they should be refunded. Apart from that I dont think you will get any compensation at all.
I would push them to get it sorted quicker though as 3/4 days seems a long time for something that seems fairly straight forward to sort out.0 -
Thanks for your help everyone! Barclays are sorting out the problems as we speak. And I can not wait to get my A&L details....0
