£2.00 coin in the pot today
this is the pot i'm using, don't think i'll want to break into it :P0 -
NO!! themstarrynights, your pot's too pretty to smash! More importantly, it's mentioned in the first post that you can retrieve coins (but not notes, if you pot notes) from terramundi pots, using a long knife or a metal ruler. See this specific part:Terrimundi pots are available in many shops and on-line, they're very attractive and another ready sealed way to save, and though the manufacturers and retailers would have you believe differently, you DO NOT need to smash them to remove your cash!! I've used mine for 8 years...and at the end of each year's (since 2009 when I graduated from a carton!) challenge, hubby and I have a whale of a time, doing things the 'old' way by tilting the pot and using a knife! Though, a few years ago DH bought a 12" steel ruler in from the shed which is thin and broad and perfect for the job. So be assured that, so long as you go carefully, you CAN use them again and again....unless you drop the darned things!! :undecided They are costly though, but this is where your Christmas list comes in handy!
(I've remembered that I made a post about six months ago in the old thread, saying I wanted to buy a terramundi but didn't want to break into it, and now here I am asking people not to break theirs :rotfl:)
Have found the purse I lost before Christmas and finally moved all cards etc into my new purse. No more missed points (apart from Tesco because they haven't sent me my Clubcard... twice...) and managed to pot £10.16 into my temporary Quality Street pot :j First pot of the year!
Sue-UU, I actually banked my pot twice last year due to my neighbours getting burgled and general anxiety about having lots of cash in my flat. I've lost the building society book and have just found out that their nearest branch is 34 miles away so won't be able to find out exactly how much I have.
Hope everyone's doing wellSPC - #483 [banked £134.15] - :staradmin :staradmin gold stars from Sue-UU!

both of my terramundi pots have a 'just' the right sized hole in the bottom, covered by sellotape. ** with a little controlled tapping with the bottom of a spoon did the job**

Lots of lovely pot and tin feeding being done by everyone. Well done:beer:
Potted my weekly £2 coin into my piggy and a small handful of shrapnel into my sealed bucket. No idea how much as I want it to be a surprise at the end:o
My purse is very small (too mean to buy a new one:rotfl:) so it needs emptying regularly but that's great as far as this challenge goes:j. Had to put all higher value coins in the Holding Pot though as will probably need to spend most of them before the month is over;)0 -

Haven't had time to keep up with the thread since returning to work - I can't believe the first week is over, it happened so quickly. I have potted a few of my precious pounds and pennies over the week though
