Challenging Myself

This DFW journey is like a rollercoaster, but this board inspires me so much when I'm on a down.
I've seriously overdone it with payments to creditors this month, pay day was only last week, but throw in the school holidays three hungry men and it just goes, I can justify every penny with no silly spending involved. But I have the best part of 3 weeks to go with £80.
Got loads of petrol/food etc no back to school stuff required. Meal planned and shopped Old Style.
Actually going to try for a full no spend week, next cashpoint visit next Thursday £10 only for son's football subs and a drop by the butchers for weekend supplies.
Wish me luck

Hi there, you can do this, you know you can!!
I have still got uniform etc to buy, and our cash ran out last week, so I am resigned to adding it to the credit card  We are, however, living out of the cupboards and the freezers foodwise - I am determined not to get a Tesco delivery ordered until payday next Friday - we are having some "interesting" food combinations, I can tell you!!

Good luck Jo!
Preparation is a the biggest part of becoming successful and it sounds like you have it well planned out. I love the quote in your Signature by the way. I havent seen that ina while. One of my favourite quotes I use and try to remember also has releavance to your post.

It's your fault I'm feeling positiveI love your interesting food combinations and will be watching your diary with interest !
School uniform, only not required because, youngest refuses to wear the green school sweatshirts so the last ones I bought where year 3, (now year 6) so he is saving me the best part of £30However Eldest is hitting year 9 and I think he is in the process of a '9 inch summer' think I can last til the half term with his.
Plus I've done a little sundance this morning (whilst hanging out the washing) to make sure we all have a glorious Indian summer so no one will require coats until early November. (And even then why won't boys wear coats ?)
Thanks for your good wishes, I know you will be sassy uniform shopping. The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

Thanks Crown, like that quote - bit like removing the goal posts at Wembley, at least England would win then
I've dropped out of so many challenges on this board, not for not trying but because stuff kept happening my poor planning and bad budgeting showed.. thought a mini challenge might lead the way forward and help in my 'financial retraining'.The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

Good luck Jo! You can do it!

Good luck to you Jo. I'm trying the grocery challenge this month, 1st time ever, I didn't think I would manage it, but fingers crossed, we're nearly there. But I don't think I could live on £80 for 3 weeks, so I'll watch this challenge with interest. Is your year nine, about 13 or 14yrs? My 13yr old works 4hours on a Saturday morning, and she buys her own school uniform and most of her other clothes, because she doesn't like it when I buy sensible shoes and regulation uniform. It's her idea of a compromise.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0
