Very misty and murky outside at the moment .I saw the Bond movie yesterday with DGD Holly and we really enjoyed it,total escapism.

Good Morning everyone, grey and breezy here today but not actually raining at the moment, we're not due for heavy rain until lunchtime. He Who Knows is off to take Cookie and I'll do the house while he's out. More home made soup for lunch and then cod loin wrapped in bacon for supper with some peas and mashed potato, nice and quick and easy so I can watch any fireworks we get, I suspect we'll get more on Saturday evening than tonight but it will be the first time in 30 years that I'll be able to enjoy them by being pet free and not cross with the world and worried about my hound.
HESTER you are a good woman, a good wife, a good daughter in law and I take my hat off to you for sheer dogged determination and resilience under circumstances that would have flattened most other people, you are amazing petal and I send you as much strength and support as it's possible to send. Whatever life throws at you you deal with, whatever others create by way of difficulties you unravel and sooth and sort and you give unstinting support to your poor MIL who is at the centre of this circus, more strength to your arm lovey, we're with you 100% and will be until it ends.
Have yourselves a really good day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning ((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Hester, you deserve a medal, your OH's family are so disfunctional its unbelievable. Does your BIL really think you are going to get the poor soul to sign a new will or something?? He needs his head looking at. Please look after yourself, you were very ill a couple of years ago, you can do without the stress.
Dull morning, we are going to Grantham, Aldi have the slippers I like in, the ones DD2 gave me at Christmas have about had it so they will be reserved for bedroom use only. I also want to nip in and see the fireplace chap we have permission to do the stove, but I cannot afford it just at present. It will be the end of Feb before I have any chance of getting the cash together, especially as OH needs new glasses which will be around £200.
Ofsky for now, may be back later.0 -

Feeling sad for people going through it today. Hope things improve and sending lots of hugs.
Well I'm going to my 1st U3A meeting today, wish me luck. I have to get out and do something, meet people. I'm a bit scared though I don't know why. Will let you all know how it goes.
Hope everyone has a nice day even though it's gloomy.0 -
Good Afternoon all.
Hester Hugs for ya x
Ive been away from here far too long. (Note to self to check in more often)
Been mega busy of late. Been job hunting and finally got myself a little office job instead of lugging boxes around a cold warehouse. Needed to change as my health has not been god of late. Was at the docs this morning having blood tests and ECG as my blood pressure has been through the roof. (why is it that first cup of coffee after a fasting blood test tastes SOOOO GOOOD)
just got to wait for the results now so should find out next week.
DD1 and DGD have finally moved back to their flat and DD2 is hoping for a pay rise so she can fly the nest. Will miss her but will be glad to have the house back to ourselves again. DH is busy with work and has been doing more graphic work again (so he is quiet in the evening with his head stuck in a laptop)
Projects on the go at the mo are sewing an advent calendar for DGD and as its her BD on the 15 i will be making her an Elsa cake.
Anyhoo enough babble from me for now i have HW to do and a lasagne to make.
Hugs to all in need
xBright Blessings xx0 -
Despite having no fog for a change, it's still a pretty miserable day with rain forecast for later. Doesn't bode well for the bonfires hereabouts. The washing is on the airers. Oh I hate wet washing draped about.
I just had a worrying text from DD. She was forwarding me a text sent by the school the two youngest DGD attend. The police wanted to warn all parents that a man in a white van had been reported as trying to encourage children into the van and of the need to advise children going home on their own to be vigilant. What worrying times we live in.
I am getting my feet up for a while now. I've been busy busy all morning. There is a big Shepherds pie waiting to go in the oven later, a big jug of gravy and an assortment of veg at the ready too. Mr TA is having his afternoon nap and I am going to pick up my book. A bit of peace before the 3DGDs descend later!
Good luck FIFTYEIGHTER with your first U3A meeting. According to a report, our local group is going from strength to strength and, after only a short time, already has 170 members.
Enjoy the rest of the day if you can one and all and take care xx
LONEWHITEWOLF welcome back!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Oh dear. What a fool. Went to the meeting and no one there. Had another look on the net and its tomorrow. Oh well I'll try again tomorrow lol.
My DD just remarked that she worries about me sometimes. Ha ha better to be too early than too late.
