  • GHD used to be good but the temp didn!!!8217;t get as hot.

No one has mentioned Clould 9 temp countries and it turns of when not used for 30 mins.

I damaged one Cloud 9 hair straighter, the thicker plates, and got the thinner plate. Not sure if it performs the same.
  • My GHDs are giving up and I!!!8217;m amazed that there!!!8217;s a thread in on straighteners. I!!!8217;m soooo pleased. I!!!8217;ve just looked at cloud 9!!!8217;s but the video of the woman straightening her hair did not inspire me. I have Donna Bellas but they aren!!!8217;t doing the job. I have naturally curly hair that has its own mind. I do not use products as they are too heaving on my hair. My hairdresser said the new GHDs aren!!!8217;t lasting as long as the old one and aren!!!8217;t as hot. I!!!8217;ve looked at chemically straightening my hair but again it!!!8217;s a lot of money to spend when my hair grows so fast! Oh and I need industrial hair dye to cover my grey hair!!

If the newer versions are getting worse results than the old one's, I'd be wanting to buy the older model. Aside from aesthetics I don't see any real difference, maybe a button here or there but nothing that really stands out. I think the older versions are cheaper too, at least on Amazon they are. Just make sure they come from Amazon and not a third party unless you are very sure the third party is selling a genuine type if you do decide to purchase.

There are other types but I've not found better and I've tried a few. Of course a big part of the reason they are so good is because they get so hot and it's the heat that causes so much damage so if you are opting for them, just make sure you use heat protection and not to use them every day.

I've had these for a couple of years now. Gets through my very thick wavy hair in no time. I've also seen them used at a couple of local hairdressers, both of whom sell and promote GHDs!

  • Have you thought of using a brush straightener? I am afraid of the flat iron (scared I will get burned). So I've bought the brush straightener, and I am very satisfied with it. It is easy to use, and I can do it by myself. It is safe for you and your hair and takes less time to straighten it. Also, you can find a flat iron vs. brush straightener comparison on Monica Davis blog which could be interesting and helpful to you. Hope this will help to make you a great decision.
  • A good hair straightener is expensive. But there are still some cheap models that are good enough. GHD is one of them but I didn't like it. Tourmaline flat iron is better for my needs.
  • nice sharing!!
