I suspect if they've realised they've screwed up, they wouldn't want to admit to it, nor be likely to have the common decency to let you know.
I'd give them another couple of weeks, then press them hard for an answer. If they refuse to respond, a complaint be made to the DVLA (no reasonable cause for accessing your details) and ask them to suspend access to them, and a complaint to the IPC, ask they investigate and report back their findings to you. Copy your complaint to the IPC to the DVLA (mark the IPC complaint with 'cc DVLA'.
See how hard you can rattle cages. Share the love! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I would write to them every day, copying to your MP, the AA, RAC, Daily Mail and CA, complain to the Trading Standards, but only in writing, send them invoices for wasting your time, make yourself a a total PITA.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
