ebay money laundering?

  • Yeah a heck of a lot of hassle to (possibly) make a quid or two.
I think you'd end up losing out.
  • Another thing that could well eat into any profits would be the occasional return.
Provided that you follow the requirements of the CCR's correctly, you won't have to cover the cost of getting a phone back if a customer decides that it's not suitable, but you will still have to pay for the original postage.
There is also the chance that some customers will claim for a faulty or damaged phone meaning that you will be liable for all costs incurred.

What's about the manufacturers warranty? Surely that would be void too?

Why? They're adding apps, not modding them.

My guess would be that if OP thinks the apps have considerable value that they are not the type of apps we're thinking of.

I don't look at apps if I'm buying a phone, I log into Google and all my apps appear on a new phone.

It would all depend on the terms of that warranty.
Some state that for the warranty to apply, the item in question must have been purchased from an authorised seller and others state that the warranty is restricted to the original purchaser.

If it's anything illegal they won't get away with selling it on ebay.

Amazon have done deals. A few days ago it was £65 of apps free through the Amazon appstore. Completely legit, the apps all have value but it wouldn't cost a thing to get them during the offer.

Course, with apps like that there are bound to be ones people don't want so while they have a sale value it doesn't mean it has that much value to others. It may also slow down the phone if OP were to add 20+ apps.

I don't think it would work doing that offer on multiple phones for account reasons, but OP may have a similar type of offer in mind.

If there's an issue within 6 months the buyer will go back to the seller. The phone would have to be sold as used to the buyer so they probably wouldn't be expecting warranty anyway. OP would still have that warranty so could go to the manufacturer if they got the phone returned to them, assuming they haven't done anything illegal regarding the phone.

Two very important words missing from your statement above.
    "In theory"...

Yeah, true. But new account, 10 phones. Some people will avoid for that reason alone, but all it takes is a negative or two and OP will really struggle to sell another or could lose their account. If it is in T&Cs about wiping phones or people realise OP has done something illegal then people may report the listing(s).
