Free texts for life on tmobile, can i keep it?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone might help.
I have a t mobile SIM card and have had the same SIM for 6 years now. It's on the discontinued 'mates rates' tariff, on which I get unlimited texts, unlimited internet and £10 credit to use for calls for 30 days.

This was advertised as 'free texts for life' back in 2009, but was no longer available to new customers from about 2011, obviously t mobile has been taken over by ee now too.

I am looking at upgrading to a newer handset which requires a nano SIM rather than the regular sized one I have. Will I be able to get the same number, and, more importantly, tariff carried over with my number if I request a replacement SIM from ee?

I'm thinking because of the free for life slogan, they might be forced to honour it??

I'm not keen on cutting the SIM down as I know nano are thinner and don't really want to risk destroying it. Would rather stay in the mobile phone dark ages on the tariff I've got lol!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice :)

SIM swap should not affect your tariff or number, it's what it says on the tin-simply a SIM swap.
But I doubt that you'll get free texts 'forever',as there are usually get-outs in the T&C's.
Back in 2009, unlimited texts were a rarity, now it's fairly standard on most contracts. Unlimited data is the real bonus.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
