Bad Taste in Mouth

Options
A couple of weeks ago I noticed what looks like blisters on the back wall of my throat and now I've got a horrible bad taste in the mouth all the time. I clean my teeth often but it doesn't help. Any advice please. Thanks

See your GP, a pharmacist may be able to help you also. This is not the place for medical advice.
  • Phobia of GP. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's true.

A second vote for try the pharmacist - they're actually highly trained and very nice people (am not, nor related to, a pharmacist ;))

Trouble with a forum is that it could be anything from an infected mouth ulcer to gangrene in your jaw.

True story - a flat mate was avoiding the dentist, and when the foul taste and pain finally forced her to go, the root of her tooth had died and was rotting in her jaw with puss occasionally forcing out of her gum like a spot. One emergency root canal later...

If you don't like your GP, and don't trust a pharmacist, you could try the practice nurse, or your dentist.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

I had this. OP I wont tell you what it is because we're not allowed to give advice much less diagnose but I had the exact same symptoms as you (and a couple more). Go to your GP, if your GP freaks you out see another one or try to get the phobia treated.

With what you have described; it's fairly easy to treat and will go within a week or two of treating it.
  • Get the phobia sorted, as you get older you'll need your doctor more.

    Also maybe dentist could help?

I had something that sounds similar. My dentist sorted it.

X2 on getting the GP phobia sorted. It could save your life... or significantly prolong it.

For anything in the mouth, dentist should be your first port of call
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

My Nan had a Dr phobia.

By the time the pain forced her to go, the cancer was way beyond help.

She'd first noticed signs 3 years earlier!

This is why I find doctor phobias very sad and utterly bemusing :( they are paid to help!

  • Last experience with Doctor.
Dad going in Ambulance and saying to Dr " I'm frightened to go in as maybe I don't come out"
Doctor "You'll come out even if it's in a wooden box"

Dad died in Hospital 2 days after.
