That's sad constantworrier but basically forum rules don't allow medical advise or diagnosis. I had a nasty experience with a doctor in the past but one day or another you will have to see one.
    ally.
  • Last experience with Doctor.
Dad going in Ambulance and saying to Dr " I'm frightened to go in as maybe I don't come out"
Doctor "You'll come out even if it's in a wooden box"

Dad died in Hospital 2 days after.

Unfortunate timing of black humour :(

    Should not have been said.

Also, it's one doctor out of thousands. Change GP :)

    And people are different!

If a Dr had said that to me going into the ambulance, I'd have laughed! Your Dad might have found it funny! It is indeed sad he died, but what could the Dr have said? "You'll be fine" = Liar "Well, that's always a possibility" = cold & uncaring, Nothing = Aloof

Plus - it was said to your Dad - not you. You just overheard it.

Anyway - this is a mouth thing. Get to a dentist
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

I overheard it and my mother did as well, she was extremely upset when he said that. My Dad was having trouble breathing and didn't react. I think the Dr should have said something like " The Hospital is the best place for you to make you more comfortable and help with your breathing" That for me would have been more appropriate.
Anyway never mind. Thanks for the advice Toothsmith I am trying to get a Dentist appointment.
  • Speak to your pharmacist in the meantime. There are several over the counter things that can be tried while you may have to wait for an appointment. Pharmacists can often diagnose if it's thrush / ulcers / or refer if it's infectious or something else.
  • Thanks everyone. Went to Dr and he said the lumps were nothing to worry about, didn't tell me what they are though. Told me to go back in a few weeks if I still have the bad taste. Thanks once again everyone x
