  • I'm an existing FD customer and previously had a Regular Saver that matured. I used online banking to apply for a new Regular Saver and it was up in running in five clicks and showed in my accounts straight away.

I don't think anyone who has applied online for either the HSBC or FD regular saver has reported needing to go through a phone quiz (unless I've missed it).

The first post relates to a telephone application, not an online application.

All banks seem to be making people sit through a reading of the terms and conditions of the account if they are opening the account in branch or on the phone. I opened a new FD regular saver on line a couple of weeks ago without this but they said if I opened it on the phone it would take 20 to 30 minutes.
