Security block

Hey all
I was just wondering if you could offer me some help for my grandparents please!
Nationwide have put a security block on my granddads account because of some previous fraudulent activity and they are saying they will only life it if he goes in to branch. The trouble is, he's currently not well enough to do so.
Just wondering if there was anything you thought he might be able to do. All advice much appreciated!

Sounds like a situation where having someone with power of attorney would be helpful.

Thank you, that's really helpful. I suggested he write them a letter and see if the branch can do something, he knows them well and if he included something in the letter that proved it was him I thought that might help. Thank you0

I'd be very surprised if the fraud department accept anything in writing if he's been asked to go to branch.DEBT FREE!

Take him to the branch in a wheelchair tell him to exaggerate his condition as much as he can and be as obvious as possible in the bank and make sure other customers understand he has been forced from his sickbed to come into the branch.0

Says a lot that you'd be more concerned with creating unnecessary drama than actually helping an elderly relative.DEBT FREE!

Although you have been quick enough to mock my suggestion nobody has offered a better one ....0

Because there isn't a better one.
Nationwide won't have just blocked the gentleman's account and asked him to come into branch for a laugh. If they're asking him to come into branch, then I'd be very surprised if he was able to resolve the issue over the phone or in writing.
The best suggestion is for someone to help him into the branch. Quite why you'd want his grandfather to cause a scene while he's there for no apparent reason is beyone me.DEBT FREE!

Is your grandmother able to visit the branch and explain that her husband is too ill to leave the house?
The branch manager might then be able to come up with some help?0
