Can anybody give me an honest opinion of price for the following gaming pc?

Geforce GTX 980ti
Intel I7 4790 4000 mhz
Water cooled CPU
24gb 1600mnx RAM
Sabretooth Z97 Motherboard
120gb Seasonic SSD
500GB HDD
Seasonic Platinum Snow Silent 1080w PSU
Wireless Adapter
Windows 10
Looks like a white corsair case, 4mth old build

Many thanks

Try a few different sites (Dabs, Scan, Ebuyer, Amazon) adding all the items to your basket to see what they come to?
  • Thanks.

Just done a quick add up and it comes to around £1700 in parts. Does that sound about right?

How much approx is depreciation for it not being brand new warrantied etc?

    Thanks once again

    Xx
  • £1700 is probablly the retail piece vfor all the retail packed items ,

a system builder would be paying about 25% less for those parts in trade packs

not sure where you got your prices from , how about listing again , with the prices you have found .

you will have to find out how much warranty is left and if its transferable ,
  • I did a quick tot up on part picker.

It looks like the parts are pretty high end?

The guy said it was built 4mths ago by a friend but he hasn't got the time to use it anymore.

Says he has boxes for all the bits. Said he wasnt sure regards warranty which i found strange.

Ive had a look on some companies on ebay and a build with a gtx980ti it looks around £1300 but the psu etc are lower end.

The guy is asking £1000 which I am nervous about :)

    Thanks for your help

£1000 sounds good but I'd want copies of the receipts etc incase of warranty work - especially expensive components like the GPU.

Even though the 6th gen cpus are out which can run on DDR4, the above system should keep you going for a good few years.

Offer £900, and ask if you can run a stress test on it, especially ram testing and fully tax the CPU/GPU. Not infallible but should give peace of mind its at least stable and if temperatures aren't too high then it shows a decent level of cooling.

RE Warranty if someone put it together from parts the warranty is per part not the whole machine, so it depends quite a lot.

While I haven't read the small print for a while but usually manufacturer warranties are non-transferable. If is a private second hand sale assume you have none. You tend to get clobbered with postage costs on manufacturer warranties anyway so they are only really useful on the most expensive parts.
  • and the likes of scan hang on to say a motherboard then after 4 mths offer you a 40% credit note

Ah, they cottoned on to depreciating component prices eventually! I remember (years ago) returning a 3yr old hard drive under warranty and getting a full refund! With the money, I was able to buy a replacement drive, some extra RAM and still had plenty of money left over! I've never been so delighted to have been sent faulty kit!

This is my configuration. The site is in my language but components are in English. It has everything but Wireless Adapter. It should give you an estimate on how much would a new PC cost. 2.243,46 € is £1. 606,78

    Here is the link http://www.mlacom.si/konfigurator?myconf&id=mbrd_29839,proc_30213,ram_28302,ram-n_3,graf_36238,graf-n_1,disk1_29813,ssd1_37512,chas_12671,cool_15545,pow_14477,oper_36330

i would say the GTX980ti and PSU would still be worth a decent amount even 2nd hand.

The rest however is not worth alot 2nd hand.

The SSD is not correct thou, as seasonic dont make SSD's.

if the Windows 10 is a geniune copy, then £1000 is an ok price.

id make sure you test the pc first before handing over any more
