Check your insurance policies. Some insurance companies are now placing a condition on DOC that it does not cover driving partner's vehicle or other vehicles belonging to the household so you will need named driver

I think that's been the case for a fairly long time.
IIRC my insurance has stated it for the last 10+ years, I'd have to dig through my records though to be certain.

3rd party whilst driving other cars usually only applies to vehicles not owned by you, or your partner/spouse.
It was far too open to abuse.

Unfortunately they're now also cutting down on general 3rd party cover on DOC for many policies

......Doesn't say anything about 3rd party (although I have always assumed it is), or frequency of use.
You are quoting from your certificate (which won't mention your level of cover at all)

You need to read in your policy the cover you get when driving other cars (usually just your legal liability to other people and their property, and no cover for any damage fire or theft to the car you are driving)

Most decent companies will mirror NCD.

Unless it has changed very recently only a handful of companies will allow you to use the same NCD on more than one car. Even where companies do allow it, it is only allowed on single driver policies.

You can earn separate NCDs on more than one car.
